I finally found a videographer I love. He does the cinematic style for a reasonable price considering everything is included. With others you get the base package and add on to make it crazy expensive or you get the package with all included and it's like $5, $6, $7 thousand. The guy I like is $1000 more than my FH is willing to spend. He hasn't said no to anything so far with this wedding but he's putting his foot down now and I'm so upset. I found others that were great for a better price but are booked for my day. The others I've looked at are just not my style. He is not budging. And honestly it's really his fault the others I liked that were cheaper got booked for our day cause he kept saying he was unsure if he wanted a video so that wasted 6 months. I understand that this whole thing is expensive and he's trying to cut corners but this is something just for us. The dj, hall, food, favors, thats all for show for the guests. This is something I can keep forever and have for my kids to see. It's very important to me. Not to sound bratty but I'd rather not have a video if I can't have the one I want. I'm not trying to waste money on something I dislike just to say I have a video. I want it to be amazing not ok.. Just want this whole thing to be over with sometimes. I'm not a girly girl. I hate planning stuff and I'm always stressed about something cause money plays a big factor when you are paying for your own wedding. Ugh. Sorry had to vent

Re: Super Stressed
What about if you try to cut something out somewhere else. We tried to cut corners. We are not having a limo for us and just got one limo for everyone. It eliminated 800.00.

i agree see if you can save somewhere else if not, then do the best you can and speak to your FH. I agree pictures are important. I have the convo with my FH when we were booking. We got a good price but to my FH everything is expensive.

Good luck with the other videographers. Just a note: the editing process if done after all the raw footage is collected. I compromised by getting the vendor I wanted to film the raw footage and then after the wedding we're going to take it to him (or my friend in film school) and have them edit it into a cinematographic wedding film. I know this will be a long wait, but it's hard to pay for the extras when you're trying to stay in budget. Maybe FH will do it as a one-year anniversary present? I hope everything works out!

We paid for our own wedding ourselves so I completely empathize! I dont know what else you booked yet but I think this is so important. We just booked photo and video together and didnt know we'd be able to find some affordable options or a little pricer for better video. I've been watching ppl videos and im so jealous that Im not going to have that type of video. I think you should DEF make this your spurge. Dont get all the little odds and ends things that most LI brides get and you'll save money that way. There are a lot of other places to cut back. Also, the way your FH may be thinking of it is old school when ppl had video tape and watched it maybe once. Now everything is viral and on the web and you can keep viewing things over and over. Also, when all is said and done, thats it. You have pictures but video captures real life and sentiment. My mom died 8 yrs ago and video on your cell phone wasnt even that popular back then, the one thing I miss more than anything is the sound of her voice. And video captures all of that. Maybe he needs to watch someones to understand. My DH didnt want video and then we watched his sisters which was by Duet, and he decided we needed to have one. Hope this helps! Good Luck.

We are also paying for our own wedding so I think he's realizing how much this whole thing is costing us lol. But I agree with you completely. Video is something that is super important to me. My mom also passed 7 1/2 years ago so I know how you feel. I would give anything to hear her voice. I don't even have many pics of her because she hated pics. I'm looking at my future. I want my kids to have something when I'm gone. I wish I had a wedding video of my parents. We have almost everything booked. The last big things are limo and videographer. We are saving big on photography cause his godfather is doing it for us (he's a professional), my flowers were a steal, my dress was not as expensive as most spend, the dj we went a little wild but I look at it like thats super important to have an amazing dj. We are meeting with a videographer his godfather knows nest wednesday, I have a feeling this guys doesn't do the cinematic style but we shall see. This did help thank you

I would do that but my fh doesn't wanna spend it at all so waiting till after still won't work, believe me I've asked lol. Thanks
