Re: Superstitions & Traditions
wow you are racking up the posts girl!
i guess we will do the traditional breaking of the glass to honor my Jewish side and i think everyone finds that a fun tradition anyway. we might do a minute or so of the hoorah, traditional Jewish circle dance. I want to do something to honor my FHs Puerto rican culture but he's not really into his culture too much and hasnt given me any ideas.

I am not a superstitious person, but I do want to follow some traditions. I am going to be in all white, and not see FH the day of. I can't think of anything else at the moment.

He will not see me before we walk down the aisle.
I will be wearing something old, new, borrowed and blue.
FH is wiccan (it's really not as weird as people think when they first hear it...I've spent hours getting to know the religion and it's really all about nature and doing right to others) and part of his ceremony entails 'tying the knot' where we have to stay tied to each other. The tradition is to do it for 24 hours, but I think I would kill FH before that is over...so we might do it for the duration of his part of the ceremony (1/2 hour!).

Re: Superstitions & Traditions
After thinking about it... i am only most likely doing the something old, new, borrowed, blue...
does the garter toss/BOK toss count as tradition? but even then I'm putting a twist on it!
Oh well.. FH will see me, there is no church, my dress has color...what else is there?

We won't be spending the night together before the wedding. We don't live together, but I will be spending the night before in a hotel near the RH. He was all 'oh cool, so we'll spend the night together' and I was like 'OH HELL TO THE NO!'
We won't be seeing each other that morning until I walk down the aisle. I'm ultra-traditional this way.
I'll be doing something old, new, borrowed and blue though I'm not sure WHAT I'll use for these things yet.
We *may* do a Celtic handfasting.
That's all I can think of for now
ETA: Will be doing henna on my hands! How could I have forgotten about that?!

Re: Superstitions & Traditions
I am going to do the something blah blah blahs.
We are going to break the glass and my mom and stepdad are walking me down. We are going to do a ketubah signing and a jewish ceremony at the temple a week before.
We are going to stay apart the night before.

I'm thinking of having the toss BOK really be a few loose flowers so that when i throw it a few people get a flower.
He's going to do the garter thing as normal, but then i'm going to present the Garter and a small BOK to my grandparents instead of doing the whole girl get the garter on her leg usually by some strange guy she doesn't know... I never wanted it to happen to me, so I will save the girls who I know don't want to do it either.
