So FH has a mass of SOMETHING in his side.. It is just below his skin, is NOT protruding into any muscle or anything... He took sonograms and MRIs and the doctors cant figure out what it is.. I'm assuming its just a mass of fatty tissue, but they're not telling us anything... Sooooooo he's gotta get it removed...
Does anyone know how this kind of procedure works? Is there a long recovery time?
Any feedback will help... I'm just trying to offer him some positive feedback
TIA girls

Re: Surgical procedures
Is it just right below the skin?
Usually something like that should not take too long and not have a long recovery period at all. But it does depend on where and how big.
I'm sure it's fine, but it's good to get it checked out.
Good luck.

Re: Surgical procedures
Fh had a fatty mass on the back of his bald head that kept growing (about 2 years ago)...i used to call it his 'on/off' button...haha...it was about 2.5 inches across or so....he went in to the Dr...they gave him local anesthetia on the area, and basically just dug it out with a scalpel. They stitched him back up and it took awhile to heal but it was fine. I guess it all depends on the size & location as far as how extensive removing it will be.

Yes its just under his skin... it's been growing and it hurts when he touches it... It's maybe the size of a small grape?
Thank you for the advice though...

Re: Surgical procedures
Darren had a large piece of fatty tissue removed from his back. It was like a lump of some foreign matter . He had it removed. They just sliced the area( for lack of a better word ) and pulled it out. He did feel a little pressure, but he was fine in a few days.
