Anyone else besides me NOT surprised when they got engaged?? Just wondering.....

Nope. I was COMPLETELY surprised lol...why werent u surprised..what gave it away? And did you act surprise even tho u werent?

I was, we never spoke about getting married so it was a shock. I actually thought he was playing a joke on me.

I was beyond shocked!!! I can say he did a great job at surprising me! :)

I wasn't surprised since we had been talking about rings and getting engaged for a while and he spoke about wanting to look at rings in the Caribbean while we were going on a cruise this past May. The cruise lines all recommend this particular diamond place that has stores in hundreds of places so we bought a ring there thinking we could trust them. Just a warning to everyone....NEVER ever do this. We got really ripped off and finally last month got our money back after fighting everyday and got a beautiful ring right here on Long Island with the money. Sorry, just still upset over that. Anyway...I was glad we picked it out together which I felt made it more special, but another part of me always wanted to be surprised.

i was very surprised!!!! we talked about it, but i thought we wouldnt for at least another 6 months to a year?? he always joked that it wouldnt happen for a while, but he went and picked out the ring all by himself and shocked me completely!!!

I wasnt. We had been talking about it for a while, Fh had even proposed like 6 months before.

FH is the worst secret keeper ever. He told all of my sisters and all of our friends none of who told me!

However, he did tell them in my living room when I was in the bedroom. To him, I couldn't have been more suprised.

I knew it was coming bc we were dating for over 7 years... so we definatly had spoken about it and I was showing him rings I liked... but I didnt know it was going to happen THE NIGHT it did... and the ring was NOT the rings I picked out, its WAY more beautiful and I couldve NEVER picked it out myself! But I did KINDA know... but was still a surprise..

i am the opposite - i feel like i am the only girl who was 100% surprised. . . we were together 8 years but he never talked about marriage, and when i pushed him he told me FIVE more years before he would even think of getting engaged. . . the very first time he ever let me talk about e rings, he had already bought it and was hiding it in his room! i am so happy i was suprised BUT on the other hand if i had SOME hint i could have had a better reaction instead of the 'ugly cry hyperventilating' so look at the bright side, i am sure you had the elegant, excited reaction that I always pictured for myself BUT couldn't pull off!

I kinda knew. I had given him my grandmothers ring to get the diamond put in a new setting, but that was 2 months before we got engaged so I thought it was NEVER gonna happen, than BAM it did! I was surprised, but it wasn't a total shock...but it was a nice surprise!
