if you were going to pay to add a station to your cocktail hr which would you pick? We're also having two pasta stations, a salmon carving, 8 pass arounds with various meat, fish, veg options. a mediterrean table and fruit and cheese. Thanks for the opinions.

Re: Sushi or Seafood Bar
I love sushi, but not everyone does. A seafood bar may be best for guests.

I say seafood also, I think many more people would eat that vs. the sushi.

I would go for the seafood bar, more guests may like seafood then just sushi

Thanks, ladies. I also think the seafood bar has a nicer presentation, but I personally love seafood so it was hard to make a decision.

Re: Sushi or Seafood Bar
also their seafood bar is in house and the sushi they actually get someone from outside to do it if that matters. . but you might not need extra. . an hour goes fast and you seem to have a lot of food and it bleeds right into dinner, right?

What kind of seafood? I think my opinion would depend on what it is.

My parents were worried since our dinner doesnt start until 9 pm and it's a Friday night that people may be starving. I think it's a good amount of food already, though. What are you having at yours if you dont mind me asking?

It's a raw bar of oysters, clams, lobster, shrimp and crab.

honestly all we are doing is the passed hot and cold and the two stations. . mediterranean and cheese. . but we are doing all four courses at dinner. .the app, salad, entree, and dessert. . I think you were skipping the app right?
I just remember their dinner portions were really big . . when we went for our tasting it just seemed like so much food. . but then our dinner is at 7:00. . or prob more like 7:30

Yeah, we skipped the app for two pasta stations and a salmon carving station. I thought for our timing it made more sense to have a little more food at cocktail hr and one less course at dinner. If mine was your timing, I'd do the same as you too.

Re: Sushi or Seafood Bar
honestly I think you're still good without the sushi or seafood. . it would def be a great add on but food wise I don't think you'll need it. . one more piece of info. . we asked them how many passed appetizers they did pp and they said 10-15 which is seriously a lot.. most catering places don't do that much and they said they always had mounds of leftovers at end of CH. . we were concerned first b/c it didn't seem like that much food but that reassured us

I say seafood, that's bc i love seafood but not crazy about sushi. We did the seafood bar and was a big hit.
However, is there a big cost difference? maybe something to consider. Not sure what your rh charges for either but at JT it was $22 per person and sushi station we were able to get for free if we used 4 or more of their vendors

The sushi bar is $10 pp and the best deal they can give me for the seafood bar is $15 pp. I am definitely leaning toward seafood if we decide to do it at all.
