For those of you who have gotten married at the Swan Club or are getting married there, did you have the Platinum package (which inlcudes the seafood boat, and extra pasta or carving station and also a viennese table (not an additional hour). If I take the platinum package, they will also throw in the chocolate fountain (I LOVE the fountain).
Trying to figure out if it's worth the money, or is it one of those things that no one will really care about It is around $4,500 extra and isn't in my contract as of right now.

I'm not a SC bride but we opted to add the Vienesse hour (just dessert, not an exta hour), opted NOT to do the seafood bar, and got an extra cocktail station thrown in free.
The vienesse hour isn't necessary but we thought our guests would really like it. As for seafood, I personally hate the smell of it and with all of the other food thought it was unnecessary, although if your guests love seafood it might be a nice addition.
That sounds like a lot of extra $$ though, especially since it isn't adding an extra hour to your party. what is the breakdown? is it $$/guest or is it a flat fee to 'upgrade' your package?
Thanks for your input...it's a pp price (and the $4500 does include tax and gratuity) but it's a package so it includes all of the items I mentioned...the cocktail hour would include an extra pasta and carving station, premium liquor (I think), and a seafood boat and then the viennese display would include pastry and cakes and cookies and the chocolate fountain. To just have the seafood boat would only be $5 less pp
so it's appx $27 per person? (i think you mentioned 165 guests)
It's up to you. If you're paying a low price per person then sure why not? If you're paying a lot per person it might not be necessary. Will you regret not having these things at your wedding? Can you negotiate the price with SC?
I think we got our hall down to $7pp for the vienesse (w/out the extra hour, but includes choc fountain), got one extra cocktail station thrown in free, premium liquor was included, and we didn't consider the seafood boat (I think it was something like $12pp though).
I'm sure your hall wants you to add this option, so if they know you're only hesitating bc of price they might come down a few $$ per person. every little bit helps
Edit: I've heard about halls discounting or throwing things in as it gets closer or if you go over your minimum a decent amount, so you might be able to save $$ by holding out a little longer

Both the Silver and the Platinum packages offer 'Name Brand Liquor'--seems to be all the top shelf stuff. The list on the two packages for liquor is exactly the same.

you can't go wrong either way at the swan club. We had the plain old silver package & everyone loved all the food, there was still so much at the cocktail hr. I don't think platnium is necessary but if you do splurge, I'm sure it will be worth it. You can just add the chocolate fountian if you don't want to spend too much extra.

I went to a wedding at the SC and would def recommend adding to the package if you can afford to. The regular menu's CH was really skimpy compared to others ive seen. The reception part was fine though. Good Luck

thank you. Michael said he wouldn't do the chocolate fountain without the viennese display b/c to have 165 ppl waiting on line for chocolate would look ridiculous. I've never been to a wedding at the Swan Club so I was concerned that the regular menu wouldn't have enough food. I feel better that you said it definitely did.

I got married at the swan club in 04. They didn't have the platinum package. I don't think.
I got married on a saturday night in june and they said they would throw in the vien. table free. It was a big hit. They also had an ice cream station big hit!

I was married at the Swan Club this past october. See my REVIEW for lots of Swan Club details & pics. I thought the food was excellent! We had just he regular Silver Package (i think it is). No add ons. No Vienese table. Everyone was very happy with the food. We did have a daytime wedding if that makes a difference...I think if you have the extra 4500 to throw it in then go for it. We were on a pretty tight budget.
