Swan Club brides - Platinum package help please.

For those of you who have gotten married at the Swan Club or are getting married there, did you have the Platinum package (which inlcudes the seafood boat, and extra pasta or carving station and also a viennese table (not an additional hour). If I take the platinum package, they will also throw in the chocolate fountain (I LOVE the fountain).

Trying to figure out if it's worth the money, or is it one of those things that no one will really care about It is around $4,500 extra and isn't in my contract as of right now.

i actually had them add it into my contract a few days ago... (i was afraid if i didnt do it soon, they would charge me the new yrs price which is prob higher than i was originally quoted)

i really hope it is worth it.... im actually think it may be TOO much... but mom wanted to add it so whatever... (we originally had added vienesse to our silver menu, but that freakin seafood boat kept standing out) LOL

That 'could've lived without it' person should have posted their reason... that would help!

agreed! and thank you for answering. I know there was one bride (beautyq115) in 7/06 that said she loved it and it was worth every penny but of course, like everything else I do, I'm second guessing the $4500 that could be my honeymoon.

Good point about the price...didn't even think about that. It is the seafood boat and the chocolate fountain that i'm obsessed with and he won't do the chocolate fountain with the silver package b/c he said it will look ridiculous to have 165 ppl standing on line for a chocolate fountain with nothing else around. He has a point.

Re: Swan Club brides - Platinum package help please.

Here's my take on it: I think the Silver package (that's the one that's not the Platinum, right?) is more than enough. They offer a great variety of food for the CH and their dinner food is great. From what I remember they have cake and a dessert as part of the package.

I just think that there is more than enough food and enough types of food to keep everyone happy at the SC. For me, more isn't better--it's simply more. I just feel like, at the end of the night, after the CH, dinner, and cake, who wants to eat MORE?

For me, it's just not worth the expense. I also shudder to think of the havoc caused by an open bar in combination with a chocolate fountain.

Thanks for the input. I've been going back and forth with it. You absolutely have a point about the chocolate fountain and an open bar, hadn't even thought of it. It's not the more that I seem to have a problem with, it's the what...I love the seafood boat but if no one is going to care if it isn't there, then true, why spend the money.

thanks again.

If you want a seafood boat, or more seafood, you can definitely add that to your menu and just pay for that.

My parents are going in my place, since I live in NC. No fair!

And if we got a seafood boat, my grandma would take it out to sea. She's already asked if she can bring home the leftovers from CH!

Re: Swan Club brides - Platinum package help please.

I'm not a SC bride but we opted to add the Vienesse hour (just dessert, not an exta hour), opted NOT to do the seafood bar, and got an extra cocktail station thrown in free.

The vienesse hour isn't necessary but we thought our guests would really like it. As for seafood, I personally hate the smell of it and with all of the other food thought it was unnecessary, although if your guests love seafood it might be a nice addition.

That sounds like a lot of extra $$ though, especially since it isn't adding an extra hour to your party. what is the breakdown? is it $$/guest or is it a flat fee to 'upgrade' your package?

My daughter got married at the Swan Club in Nov. We had the platinum package and I think it was well worth the $. Everyone is still raving about the CH and the seafood boat! The viennese table was great too.

Thank you! It's such a hard decision...every person I've asked that has had it at the Swan Club, says it's well worth it, b/c you get so much for hte additional $pp.

I actually didn't even think about going to the showcase b/c all of my vendors are booked already. Do they give out appetizers?

Thanks for your input...it's a pp price (and the $4500 does include tax and gratuity) but it's a package so it includes all of the items I mentioned...the cocktail hour would include an extra pasta and carving station, premium liquor (I think), and a seafood boat and then the viennese display would include pastry and cakes and cookies and the chocolate fountain. To just have the seafood boat would only be $5 less pp
