I looked there and it was among my top few choices, but we went with my first choice after FH realized how much we could get for a $5 pp price difference. I went to a Bar Mitzvah there in March, and quite honestly, wasn't thrilled with the food, but was willing to give it another chance if we could have a tasting. The grounds are beautiful and the hall is lovely, but we just felt that we would get more elsewhere and not have any doubts about the food. I've heard mixed reviews, but that goes for most places. Good luck.

How many people are you going to have? I was only having a minimum of 100, so I would have been getting the Contessa room which I thought was kind of small. But if you're having more than 140 (I think), the Camelot room is beautiful. I also did a food tasting there, and the food was decent. I would have maybe done that one if I would have gotten the Camelot room b/c the prices weren't bad.

The grounds are really pretty and the food is good but there is a room there that is set up really weird...the room is almost split in two where some guests can sit in an area that has steps up to it...and we couldn't even see them...it was weird.

Yeah, that was the Contessa room. The split made it weird and made the space seem small.

The grounds are beautiful and the food and service were good. I went to a wedding there a few years ago. I really liked the hall, just note that several functions take place at once.

I have been to two weddings there recently and everything was excellent. I hear it's very reasonable too. Good luck with your decision!!!

we are having our wedding there in 6 weeks. we went for a food tasting and it was really good. we liked the fact they had a smaller minimum considering we are having a small wedding. the grounds are really pretty as well. they have been very helpful also in the planning :)

Re: Swan Club in Roslyn?

I'm so glad to hear all of your comments about the Swan Club!

I'm getting married there on October 2, 2004 in the Contessa room! We're going to have between 100-120 guests at the most.

We just loved the warmth of the Contessa room as well as the set up....I also love the view overlooking the gardens and ponds/waterfalls, etc.

We're having a minister perform our wedding ceremony in the Pavillion which overlooks the beautiful gardens.

My mother made a comment about the layout of the Contessa room - she thought we may feel a little distanced from our guests who sit on the 1st level.

I've heard nothing but positive things about the Swan Club which is the main reason we chose it besides the magnificent surroundings! Everyone I speak to has been there or knows someone who has been there and has rave reviews!

I'm not thrilled about 2 other weddings going on at the same time. Our planning manager said that they keep every event as separate as possible.

I'm going to arrange for us to have lunch there at some point - they don't offer dinner. Lunch is available Tuesday thru Friday from 12 noon - 3:00 p.m.

I'm also going to call and ask about stopping by to see the Contessa room and Pavillion set up for a wedding. I was told I could do that and take a sneak peek before the ceremony/reception begins.

I'm going to meet with their recomended DJ from L&S Entertainment - we shall see....

When are you thinking about getting married?

What room are you considering at the Swan Club?

Isn't this fun??

We went there for a wedding this past weekend. THe room for cocktail hour and the reception were very nice... I didn't like the fact that there was another party right next door to the one we were at. I also was not fond of the service( it could have been just our waitress), but the food was good. All in all the wedding was fantastic..

Im getting married at the swan club we are in the camelot room. I looked at a lot of differnt places and I didnt want 4 walls meaning I wanted to be able to look out of windows and see something no be stuck in a basements somewhere. Their prices were very good but thats not why we picked it. We also went to a tasting before we booked I refuse to book before tasting food anywhere and it was very good!!!

I got married there three months ago. We had the Garden Room which was nice because we were a bit secluded from the other rooms. The food was good and plentiful and the maitre'd was incredibly attentive. We took our pictures there as well and they came out beautifully. If you have any other questions, feel free to FM me. I do highly recommend the Swan Club.

FH and I went to this hall when we were looking - it was among our top choices but we ended up booking another hall

Their prices were very reasonable and the grounds are gorgeous!

My sister got married there in June. They did a great job! Everything was fabulous and she had a great time working with them. Her ceremony was there as well. They were very accomodating. I didn't really eat too much but what I ate was good. The service was good too.

Thanks for all the input! My FH and I are going to lunch at the Swan Club next week. That will give us a better idea on the food. I am also going to ask to see the other rooms (we anticipate having 100-1300 guests and they only showed us the Contessa room).

We still have a lot more halls to see. I really love the idea of getting married outside and not having to worry about weather (so far the Swan Club is the only hall that has coverings in case of rain).. I will keep you posted.....
