sweet 16 gifts?

We are invited to a sweet 16 party, it if dh's side but I have never met them, he isnt close with them and has said we would go. What is an average gift for a sweet 16? Money? How much? Its an a hall, but the dress is formal, its buffet if that matters. Im clueless when it comes to things like this,so any advice Id truly appreciate! Thanks!

$25-$50 would be fine. I'd say $25 since you aren't close

Re: sweet 16 gifts?

I would say $50 or even $75. If you don't want to give money, you could get a gift card to the mall or to something like best buy or something like that.

Re: sweet 16 gifts?

Me too but that was 13 years ago. If you are a couple, that is only $50 each. That is not really alot but average for a sweet 16.

Re: sweet 16 gifts?

I would recommend a $50 gift certificate to somewhere like the Gap or Old Navy.

Re: sweet 16 gifts?

wow! You guys have alot of great ideas! THANKYOU!!!
I think we probably wont go over 100, its at a lodge, like the elks lodge or something like that, but she said its formal dress..this is the family that noone on Dh's side likes, which is why Ive never met them, he didnt want them at our wedding..so I think Ill do 100 or less...thanks for all of your help!

Re: sweet 16 gifts?

Alicia, I'd say between $50-75., maybe an American Express gift certificate or like the others said a certificate to the Gap or Coconuts or Bath & Body...that would distinguish it from the others/money.

How are you?!
