Swimming Lessons

I want Emma to learn how to swim (6 1/2 months old). I dont want her to fall into a pool and sink I want her to swim to the edge. Anyone know of any place that offers the Mommy and Me class or Water Babies class???

Re: Swimming Lessons

Thanks!!! Since I dont have a pic of me and Derek on my puter I figured Id use her in my profile... shes a combination of us both
I think Huntington is a bit far for me ... Im in Riverhead. I did call a place in Coram. They have mommy and me classes... they also have a one on one with an instructer. I dont know which would be better to teach her how to swim. Im guessing the one with the instructer but I dont know.

Re: Swimming Lessons

I think while she's so young, go to the mommy and me so that you can also interact with other moms, and she can get adjusted to the water.

Re: Swimming Lessons

As a swimming instructor for years, I would recommend the mommy and me program first than the individual lessons. Many people say it what can you teach a baby? I had been teaching a 14 month old boy since he was 5 months old. When he fell in his pool one day, he was able to bring himself up to the surface and get to the side of the pool till his mom could get him. It works. Good luck!!
