Ugh. I can't believe that it's resurfacing! I hope that they close your school for your own safety!
There's been a TON of strep throat going around one of my schools this week. . .I'm a victim!!! You can never be too careful, no matter how much you wash your hands!!!

Def. not. We are so prone. No matter what we do. It's so scary. And kids are sick all the time to begin with so how do you know when you are over thinking it or they are really sick. ahhhhhh we don't need this we are planning weddings

i work at RFK formally known as PS 168 in flushing. I work for PS255 where our elementary site is at P16. I had 4 out of 6 kids absent today...2 with fevers

I know it's scary, but as healthy women, we're all going to be fine, even if we get the flu. It's just the flu. In spring. It'll be ok!
But if there is any sort of threat about it, hopefully they will close your school Monday!

OMG I WORK THERE TOO!!! FOR THE AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM AND I WAS REALLY SCARED TODAY I BOUGHT HAND SANITIZER FOR ALLLLLLL THE CLASSESSSS WE HAVE I AM PANICKING I AM GRADUATING IN 1 WEEK AND THE LAST THING I NEED IS THE FLU!!! OMGG I SAW THE ATTENDANCE TODAY AND 158 KIDS WERE OUT AND A COUPLE WENT HOME TODAY WITH MASKS AND STUFF REALLY SCARY

There is no need to panic ladies!
My FFIL is a doctor. The hospital he works from ciculated a memo 2 weeks ago when the swine flu was 'breaking'. They said NOT to treat people with Tamiflu. They said NOT to give patients drugs.
The reason is its not worse that ANY other flu out there. It can be treated just like any other flu.
The only reawson its SO out there right now is no one has been immunized for that strain. The CDC as we speak is almost ready with a vaccine.
So dont panic and take a deep breath.
This is no worse than any other flu going around.
I am glad that schools are taking precautions to stem the tide of new cases.
But dont panic. Its all good!

I think they stopped closing schools for Swine Flu. The government said it was unnecessary.

The elementary school up the block from my house has a swine flu outbreak too. It's P.S. 107 and there were news reporters there yesterday. I feel so bad for the kids because they do this big show this time of year and it's supposed to be next week!

My brothers school was closed because of this, and he went home sick but so did many other students. It is going to be closed all of next week.
