I heard this a few times - why would you have to do this?

Re: switch e-ring to other hand during ceremony
Someone correct me if Im wrong, but the finger we all wear our engagment rings on is really only meant for a wedding band. Therefore, you have to wear it anywhere else but that finger for the ceremony.

Yeh, this is what I was told.
During the ceremony, your wedding band is placed on that ring. And, I hear your wedding band should be closest to your heart so it goes first and then the engagement ring on top. I think it is just a hassle to change it during the ceremony so people do it beforehand to save from the trouble of changing fingers.
I literally plan on changing it back to my left hand as soon as we get to the back and prepare for the receiving line.

B/c your wedding band will go on your left hand.......most people just switch it back after the ceremony, that's IF you're going to wear your band and Ering on the same finger.

You do this because the wedding band is worn closer to your heart (IE: on the inside of the ring finger) and you put the E-ring on the right hand for the ceremony so you don't have to move it when exchanging rings (which can be nerve wracking enough!)

Re: switch e-ring to other hand during ceremony
I went to a wedding where part of the ring ceremony was replacing the e-ring on the left hand after the wedding ring. I can't remember what the priest said but something about renewing the promise made on the day you got engaged.

Re: switch e-ring to other hand during ceremony
I am bugging out about this because MY ERING DOESN'T FIT MY RIGHT HAND!!!!! And, I don't want to get it enlarged because then it will be too big to wear on my left hand again- any only else have this problem?

Re: switch e-ring to other hand during ceremony
My e-ring does not fit on my right hand either. My friend had to wear hers on her pinky and right after the ceremony she switched it back. I will probably do the same thing. I think it is a little big on my pinky though.
