we are going to NC next week to find an apartment for after the wedding. while we are there we want to switch over our car ins and license (i need residency asap for lower school tuition and we also need to save with the car ins $)
we have to prove residency to get our license and we are going to state we live with his parents in raleigh, he has a utility bill with the same last name so he is ok, but i dont have anything like that! so my question is,
what is a sworn affidavit? i can get one of these to prove residency for myself, but i'm not sure if its just a notarized statement or something.
'A sworn affidavit may be used ONLY if one of the above documents is NOT available.'
thanks, lacey

Re: sworn affidavit
we had to get one here for my daughter to go to school because we have no bills either (we live with FILs so she can go to a great school and b/c rent is too high)....only bank statements. ask them if they have a form....ours was merely a form that we filled in the blanks on and we took it to the bank and they notorized it for free because we have an account there.

Re: sworn affidavit
when i moved to Fla for college, i needed one so i could get residency... it was called a declaration of domicile... i had to go to town hall or somewhere and swear that Fla was my new residence... they gave me a certificate with a seal on it...
