SWR

Ok so FH and I are really really happy because we will be closing on our house in February. HOWEVER, my bridal shower is in April!!! I need all that stuff and I don't want to buy it. Has this happend to anyone else and how did you manage until the shower.

I think I'll be eating with paper plates and forks for two months

That happened to me too. I bought plates, cups and silverware from IKea (really cheap) and made sure to not buy anything I did not absolutely have to get. If I had to buy it, then I removed it from the registry. HTH.

FH just moved into his own house in August so we needed the 'necessities'. We bought a lot of what we needed at Marshall's Home Goods, you should definitely check them out. I'm going to register for nicer things when I create my registry so eventually everything will get replaced.

i would say ikea. when you get the stuff off your registry, you can always donate the ikea stuff to goodwill and use that as a right off on your taxes... they'll end up being free in the long run.

Do you really plan on moving in right away? Don't you need time to set up everything? That would give you some time to wait til you have your shower and get the things you need.
