SWR: Any Dental Hygienists out there??

I was wondering what it would require you to obtain in terms of licensing, certification, etc. Does anyone know how long you need to go to school for that? Is it a specialized 'trade' school or a regular College?? How long does it take? Thank you so much... Any info on this would help me b/c I'm SO lost right now and I don't know anything about the subject and I'm considering a possible career move soon...

Hi!!! I am a Dental Hygienist. The program is about 2-3 yrs. There are 4 schools around us that offer the program: NYU College of Dentistry (I went there), Hostos, Farmingdale and NY Tech. It is a very INTENSE program!!!!! I had no life for 3 years!!!! You have to be very dedicated!!! After graduation you have to take a national board exam....i studied about 4 months for that exam!!!! But, it's all worth it in the end and the money is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!
