who is going to TTC right away? FH and i are discussing it - we are kind of torn right now (finances, etc.). if you don't mind sharing, what are your 'plans'?

We plan on waiting awhile and then after that, whatever happens, happens. Right now we are both very busy with work (we travel a lot, sometimes at the same time) and are happy having a fur-kid who we can leave home alone during the day or send to doggie camp for a few days. Plus I'm still a little scared of babies - it's very intimidating to me that they are so small and helpless - I'm always afraid I'm going to do something wrong. That and they are completely innocent, waiting to be shaped into good human beings, and that we have the power to totally F that up.... aaaaahhh....

FH and I plan on trying in about 4 years. I'm only 23 so we definitely want to take our time.

well i just got promoted at my job and that requires me going away for approx 10 weeks total over the course of next year for training. so we're going to wait till spring of 09 to start trying to conceive. so we're going wait approx 1 1/2-2 years after we get married.
ETA: i'm 26 now so i'll be 27-29 when we conceive.

Us too!!! DD will be 7 at the youngest if we succeed TTC on the HM. FH wants a house first but I figure the market is swinging in our favor! And if we can save for a wedding (paying for it ourselves) then we could do it again for house!

I am waiting at least 5-6 years before any kids - I want to enjoy being with FH for awhile before kids. Maybe we'll get a dog in a year or two, but we're even waiting for that. We want to travel and be by ourselves and enjoy being married first. Then we'll see! Good luck to all those who are TTC soon!

If FH had it his way, I'd be preggo right now! I told him that he has to wait until at least the HM so I can fit into my dress!! I've been on the pill forever, so I am thinking that I will come off right before the wedding and if a HM baby happens, then so be it!

1-1.5 years is perfect timing for me. I need to go on 2 vacations without baby (3rd world countries)...as soon as we do this...we're ready.

we discuss on and off.. FH is starting to freak out about it so i am not bringing it up anymore... but we said we would start next year sometime... but in conversation FH joked ~ maybe we will have a honeymoon baby... so when it happens it happens...
