I have a very weird shaped torso. From my belly button up, my stomach is flat, but then I have a pot belly on the lower part of my abs, if that's what I want to call them! LOL.. But I know I need to lose the fat there first before I can tone it. Every other part of my body is fine except for that. Any suggestions?

Re: SWR: Best way to get rid of belly fat?
i had that I went on weight watchers
that was where most of my fat was
so i was on ww and i lost there not tht is exactly where u will lose if u do ww but that was where my excess fat was
then after i slimed down I do crunches like a mad woman with weights withot weights
I do crunches for about 15 mins
also good for lower body
lay on back and lift your legs up you should feel the lower abs working
or crunch with kicking you legs out

Unfortunatelly there is NO spot focus for fat. Everybody's 'rebellious' fat problem spot is different for everyone.
Low Abs exercices are good but will not help with the fat. Cardio will help you but the last 'fat spot' can be stuborn.
Or it could be 'abdominal distention' (due to your diet).

This is very true. You can work exercises at the spot but it will only tone the spot UNDER that fat, diet & exercise will reduce your fat all over but as Sophie said, your trouble spot is usually the last place to go

I agree - a healthy diet and cardo. Unfortunatelly I also think its genetics.

I agree. Cardio will be the best option, but unfortunately genetics plays a part in it too.

Re: SWR: Best way to get rid of belly fat?
i had a personal trainer for awhile and the best ab workout is for you to hold onto the bed rails or something similar and do leg lifts. its the most intense ab workout you'll have. i usually go on the crunch machine thing (not really a machine) at the gym and do 25 crunches normal then 25 to each side i do 4 sets without stopping. its gonna be tough at first without taking breaks, but you'll get it and can go longer than that. definetely have a sensible diet too. and do lots of cardio

Plain and simple -
Reduced calorie intake + increased cardio = fat loss
