swr: downloading music

My friend is getting married next month and i told her i would help her with making her cd favors since she doesn' t have a cd burner and i do. the only problem is the songs i downloaded from itunes are protected and will only transfer to an ipod and not a cd. Does anyone know a site that i can download music from that will let me transfer to a cd? or is there a way to download it from itunes so it transfers to cd?

i don't mind paying for the songs as long as i can transfer them to a cd.

limewire and kazaa you may be able to get a virus from (you can get a virus downloading anything), but it's less likely than finding it through bit torrent.

bit torrent is a good way to download enitre albums, but there is a higher chance of getting a virus. it's less likely if you have a antivirus software.

you could rip songs off of other people's cds. they wouldn't be protected that way.

you could also search livejournal for music sharing sites and request the songs you want.

um, the only other suggestion i have is maybe try tranferring the itunes songs to another computer or if you're trying to burn a cd through itunes, try a different way - you, bypassing the system sorta. may not work, but it's worth a try.

eta: also, are you using a mac? macs usually have more copywrite protection stuff on them. if you try a pc, you may have less problems.

My FI started our favors in iTunes, but we were only able to burn 7 CDs. So I took one of the CDs that we had burned and ripped it in MusicMatch, which let me burn an unlimited amount of CDs. So you might want to try MusicMatch. I think it's free to download, you only have to pay if you want upgrades.

thanks for the suggestions!!! i think i may just see if i can find people that have the songs she wants on cds, or i wonder if itunes has versions of the song that aren't protected.

As far as I know, you jmake a playlist with the songs you want, and then when you are in the playlist, the icon at the top right should say burn disc (the swirly circle thingy). Click on that and you're all set.
