Hi Ladies! FH is a public school teacher on LI (he is currently applying for jobs, actually). Anyway, I would like to know what days the schools would be closed in September. I am hoping to do our e-pics after Labor Day, but since FH will be so new at his job, he probably can't take a day off! It would be so helpful to know what days Elementary, Middle School and High Schools have off in September / October for the Jewish Holidays, etc. TIA!

This is a real stingy fall for school workers! The holidays mostly fall on weekends (Rosh Hashanah is 2 days and happens to fall on a Saturday and Sunday)! Each district works slightly differently but here's what mine's following:
Monday Sept 28 for Yom Kippur Monday Oct 12 for Columbus Day Wednesday Nov 11 for Vet's Day
I have the exact same problem with my e-photos as well. Because I want to have them done in my old neighborhood in bklyn, the photographer asked that we go during the week (which I have NO issues with). It's jsut that I get only 2 personal days off and will use them the 2 weekdays after the wedding. I'll hopefully be able to book ours on the Sept. 28. Ugh, that is stingy!! I just read in my photog's contract that the e-pics have to be on a Tues, Weds or Thurs, nonetheless! Mondays are out! I don't want to wait until November for Vet's day. So annoying!

Well, you can wait until he knows what district he's in. He might have different days off (possibly election day). Veteran's Day may be nice though; good foliage!
