SWR: Our weekend
first i had a make up trial with Jennifer Ann. im having a hard time getting the pictures off the camera though ![]()
but i'll try to get them into my album sometime during the week.....i liked the make up but it wasn't really the look i wanted for the wedding - Jennifer is so sweet though and i really liked her personality....i think that i really want Chris (the one who did my bpic makeup and eparty trial) to do my make up for the wedding - he is a friend of the family and he is awesome but he cancelled on me for my eparty so i'm a little apprehensive about booking him for something as important as the wedding - i contacted him this weekend and he said he can totally do it - so I guess i'll just have to harrass him for the next 9 months ![]()
then we went to see Mike at Flower Barn. Mike was awesome. he had a sample CP - it was white branches with hanging votives - it was gorgeous!! and almost exactly what we were thinking of doing (FH isnt sure if he wants white or brown branches, we'd like a thinner vase, and a little less branches - FH is particular about his branches![]()
) then we looked through some of Mike's pictures and i showed him some things i liked as well. i went through my list of everything i wanted for the ceremony, bouquets, and the reception. then he told us some ideas he had and gave us an amazing price. we are going to do 10 high branch CP's with the hanging votives and 10 low white rose CP's - so our reception will a have a totally different feel than the rest of the wedding which FH really liked - and we'll do blue ambiance lighting for the reception.....up until the reception everything will be golds, taupe, dark reds, really christmassy.....my bok will be black magic roses and burgundy mini callas, and the BMs will have all calla boks....he'll cover the structure at JT with white fabric like a chuppah for us like i wanted and he'll do a red flower arrangement on the top and red rose petals down the aisle....he'll also do cake flowers if we want them - basically everything we wanted he can do for us which is awesome....so FH is going to call him and we are going to book with him....
we also saw Flowers by Burton - it was packed in there - it seemed a little bit like a wedding factory - i had emailed them for a few quotes but i wanted to go there to see pictures, talk about specifically what i wanted, and to just go over everything to get an idea of exactley how many flowers would be in the boks' and what kind of branch centerpieces they could make, what they cover the chuppah in, what kind of hanging votives do they have, etc. etc. we felt very rushed and we felt like they just wanted our deposit - we met with bobbi and she was like well you already asked for everything in the email so what else do you want? i thought you just wanted to drop off the money - he already gave you quotes. i was like - yeah he gave us quotes but we don't know what kind of work you do - like how hard is it to show me a picture of what i asked for? needless to say we were not feeling them and there quote was more than Flower Barn anyway....i couldn't wait to get out of there, i just felt like they were very inpersonable - maybe after you leave a deposit they will want to spend more time with you - i don't know - but it just wasn't what i expected.....
all in all it was a good, LONG day out in Long Island![]()
