SWR- THoughts on TV

well FH and I have recently bought a condo
last nite we were talking about our decorating plans and i am debating whether or not we should have a TV in the master bedroom. I'm kinda on the fence about it. We will be having TVs in the 2 other bedrooms and in the living room, is it really needed? of course FH feels it is, im sure he would want xbox in there too but thats not happening
anyways- for all you girls who live with FH already or who have thought about this, what do ya think?? im curious as to other peoples opinions

I can understand both sides, but I think I'd want to have a tv in our bedroom....that way, we can snuggle up in bed and watch tv together And I don't think I would put a tv in the other bedroom(s)

we have a tv in out bedroom & its great!!! on the weekend mornings its nice to wake up and watch tv together!! sometimes we spend ALL MORNING into the early afternoon watching tv, eating and laughing together.

also - when FH is out and im home, its nice to be able to watch tv in bed and fall asleep.

but i can understand why your on the fence about it, but we LOVE it!!!

I've never NOT had a TV in the bedroom, so I say TV in the BR... why are you having TVs in bedrooms that no one is sleeping in???

LOL day - our apt is so tiny that we can probably watch the living room TV FROM the bed. . . and we are still getting a TV for the bedroom - if you are concerned with how it looks - you can get one of those entertainment centers that closes.

Ant can't sleep without the TV on - which is going to be a major problem for me but oh well.

PS - when do i get to see it?!

We don't live together, but I never wanted to have a TV in our bedroom b/c I thought it would take away from communication in bed but Ginabambina does have a point. Now I'm confused

i dont live with FH but this is a very debateable topic.

I dont know I like having a TV in my bedroom.. but maybe that will change when we are married.

Both sides of the argument are valid.

To have one: lay in bed and snuggle up to a good movie. I know I am more comfortable snuggling and watching TV in bed than on the couch.

thanks for the all the research jgl- ive heard that somewhere before too, thats why the whole idea was in my head- ive always had a tv in my room but FH and i have never lived together b4 so im trying to decide if its needed....hmm....

Basically saiying what Gina said above.
Research has proven that a tv in the bedroom takes away all intimacy. Not just sex, but converstion too. I think it's important for the bedroom to be like a haven for FH and I. It's a place for us to talk and cuddle in bed. We live hectic lives at work and don't need to go to bed to a tv being the center of attn. in our bedroom.

well 1 room is my office so we're putting in a small flatscreen we already have from his apt. then the other room is a guest room but also where he wants to set up his video games and all that stuff so of course he wants a tv in there

everyone is different

Me and FH are Bedroom people, meaning we do not spend any time in our living room.
we have a large tv in our livingroom though

BUT we eat dinner, have snacks watch TV in our bedroom in bed. We have never sat on the couch to watch tv
and we have a very nice couch

FH is a psychologist.. so i think he rubs off on me at times and I need to find some outside information hehe

I like the idea of no TV in the bedroom.. i would def consider trying it but it is going ot be a BIG adjustment!

yea placement is hard too lol.....across from our bed is the sliding doors for the terrace, so we would have to have the TV hanging from the ceiling....thats funny becuase joey hates when the tv is left on while hes sleeping....we close in june but we're going to look again on friday, so ill take some pics this time

I think it would be healtier for the relationship to not have one, but FH and i like to cuddle and watch tv. So IDK.. Maybe get a small TV so the two of you would like to watch TV in the Living room more than the BR.

Your welcome.. Thats what i'm thinking of doing

We have a tv in our bedroom....theres just something about cuddeling up together and watching a movie. Also, I think about what if I'm sick....I want to just veg out in bed and watch The Price is Right!

My vote....Definately a TV in the bedroom!
