I had one yanked out, I need to get the rest pulled. My teeth are very healthy and very big. I was warned when I was 14 that my wisedom teeth were going to be a B*tch. If need to get the pulled, do it! I have one wisedom tooth that gets infected and has caused me really bad headaches. If left untreated, the infection can go to your brain.

Re: SWR: Wisdom teeth
I have had them out. I didnt get all four out at one time, I waited until each one started to hurt then had each one done on separate occasions.
I didnt have any problems with the top ones, they came in fully, but just started to hurt. Also getting the top ones out hurt less, b/c the bottom ones are connected to more nerves or something like that.
The bottom ones, hurt so much and I didnt even have a bad impaction for them. I had a soft tissue impaction, so half of them came out and the other hal was blocked by my gum. That hurt so much and it bothered my throat and ears until finally I said ok time to take them out. That happened with both bottom ones within a year of each other.
I had them pulled out without going fully under; I just used novocaine and sweet air. Saved my parents a ton of money. That and I am afraid of needles in veins.
Anyway, I suggest you go see your oral surgeon or dentist and ask what you should do. Explain your situation. Also check out what is covered by your insurance.

Re: SWR: Wisdom teeth
my dentist decided it was in my best interest to pull my teethe before they even grew in - i got to keep one b/c i have been blessed enough (oozing with sarcasm) to have 6 wisdom teeth (one in 10,000 people have 6 wisdom teeth - i'd rather win the lottery but no i get two extra teeth). I have not had any problems before or after but i did get really sick for a few days b/c of whatever gas/ painkiller they gave me.
ETA: all 5 were pulled the same day and b/c they hadnt grown in yet they had to cut open my gums - they said i didn't have enough room for all 6 so growing in would've been an unpleasant experience since there just wasnt enough room. The one i got to keep grew in normal like a mollar (sp?) and hasn't caused any problems, i don't know why i got to keep one, this was about 3 or 4 years ago.

Re: SWR: Wisdom teeth
I had all four of mine pulled and it hurt but it was only about a week, but then on top of it i got larangitis so i could eat and i couldnt speak... my mother was loving it!!!
if you are really worried then schedule an appointment and have them taked out way before your wedding, you can have them taken out even if they are not bothering you, sometimes its better that way

Re: SWR: Wisdom teeth
I checked 'other' because 3 out of 4 of them have been pulled. One (on the bottom) was impacted and having it removed was one of the worst experiences of my life! The last one left is impacted as well and I'm not touching it! It doesn't bother ME, I'm not bothering IT.

I only had the bottom 2 taken out - when I was 17. It was a horrible experience for me. My face blew up, I looked and felt terrible.

Re: SWR: Wisdom teeth
I had all 4 pulled at the same time as well. To be honest with you, I was so doped up on percoset (sp) so I had no pain. My cheek was a little swollen for a few days but I was in lala land so I did not care

Re: SWR: Wisdom teeth
Talk to your dentist - he'll need to take an x-ray, and then he'll be able to diagnose whether or not you'll need to have them removed.
But do it now, because you want this out of the way LONG before your wedding!!!

Re: SWR: Wisdom teeth
I had all 4 pulled. 2 of them were badly impacted. My doctor had to take 2 at a time and put me under anestesia. the first 2 (one impacted and one not) were taken out 5 years ago. I was in so much pain, it took me 5 years to go back and get the other 2 out this past September. The second time I had no pain and healed so quickly.

Re: SWR: Wisdom teeth
I had all 4 out under anesthesia after 1 became badly infected that was impacted. The procedure itself was easier then the infection! I was also told its better if you do it when you are younger. I did it on a friday and was back to work on monday.
