table cameras ?

table cameras ?

I'm planning on doing a photo guestbook. I'm having someone take pictures of the guests as they arrive with a digital camera(so the guests can see the picture too) and make sure they at least sign the page. Now when I mentioned this to my Fi, he suggested that I just have this person and maybe asking one or two more friends w/ digital cameras take pictures of the guests during the reception rather than having table cameras. He thinks it will be easier to share w/ the guests and cheaper than developing 18 table cameras. I also have two photographers and the videographer so he thinks table cameras are going overboard. What do you you ladies think? I have a cousin and two friends who are photographers who probably would do it for me if I asked. I wouldn't expect them to take pictures the entire time. I don't want them to feel like they're working instead of being guests. The thing is at least table cameras are more like suggestions. You don't have to ask, the people who like to take pictures will use it. Just looking for opinions, thanks.

Table cameras are a funny thing. If your guests are a fun bunch, you can end up with some really great shots as they 'tell a story' of how the night went through their eyes. But if you dont have really fun guests, you may just end up with a lot of junk.

We had 11 table cameras - one went missing so we were left with 10. Of the ten, here are the photos that I felt was worthwile. Table Cameras

Up until 2 weeks before the wedding, I wasnt going to do them because I thought it was going to be too much but Im glad I did get the table cameras because even with 2 photographers and 1500+ proofs I still wouldnt have gotten some of these shots but it is expensive.

So my point is that if you can afford the expense, do both (table cameras and photographers) but if its one or the other than you should be able to get ALL worthwhile shots from your photographer friends.

I def think that the table cameras are fun.

I wanted to take polaroid pictures of my guest coming in and have them sign at the bottom of the picture. Then I was going to make my own guest book with all the pictures.

I think they are a great idea. You tend to get a lot of pictures that show what really went on during the wedding, not just possed pictures. It gets different points of view. I know I am having them at my wedding.
