table cameras - are they worth it?

For brides that have had disposable cameras on each table - can you tell me if you got good pictures? was it worth it to put them on each table? did guests use them? I was thinking of getting them but I want to get some feedback first. Thanks!

table cameras - are they worth it?

I wasn't going to get table cameras at first...until a bride on this board changed my mind...there are so many parts of your wedding that you will miss and the people at your table will see.. My fear was that I would get 20 pictures of the same thing - first dance, cutting cake...etc...but then I got the idea from someone else to do a scavenger hunt... Im going to print on labels and then stick them to the cameras...find the best dressed couple, funniest person, a candid...I have to think about it more but I think it will be fun for the guests and also for us to look at them...

I love that idea of a scavenger hunt. It will also get people warmed up at a table who otherwise don't know each other!

table cameras - are they worth it?

This was one detail that I wished I had not forgotten when I got married last year. And, I think that Yabbobay's idea is great, to ensure that you don't get a lot of duplicates. Everyone at your wedding will have a different perspective of the day - I definitely think these cameras are worth the expense. Good luck!

ideas

That sounds like soooo much fun. Even if people don't really do it, it will definitly be an icebreaker as they read the list. That's great. I'd like to hear from people who did this or people who have more ideas of what to put on the list. Thanks.

Speaking from experience...YES!!!!!

It cost us under $200 for our cameras and developing (double prints!). SO worth the $$$. We had them developed in an hour the day after our wedding and at least 90% of them were really good! I made 2 albums with them and gave the duplicates to family & friends. My only advice is to get good cameras (we got the Kodak ones - great!) and to get the ones with 15 exposures - we didn't have one unused picture! Definitely worth doing it IMO! Good luck! :)

make sure your guests know to use the flash!

We had 20 cameras & developed 3 of them this week & most of the pics didn't come out well b/c the guests didn't bother to use the flash. Hopefully the rest will be better. Also, of the 20 cameras, about 10 of them have less than 10 pics taken. I still think it's worth it, but maybe find a way to get around these loopholes :-)

my sister used them and it was great! she wound up with 400 extra pix that she never would have had. she also tried to put one in each thank you card that might have had that person in it.

Make sure your guests know to leave the cameras behind!

We used 25 cameras over 12 tables at our September wedding. Tables that had kids seating at it were left with enough cameras that each could have their own, and the larger tables (of 12 or more) were given two cameras. Anyway, no matter what you do, make sure to clearly inform your guests that the cameras are to stay behind, and are not favors. Of the 25 cameras we put out, we only got back 13. I was very upset about this, thinking of all the missed pictures that didn`t come back. After the wedding, someone had said they wished they would have thought to recommend having the DJ make an announcement for the collection late in the night, or to at least make an announcement when everyone was seated that the cameras were to be left behind. We did have the table cards explaining the cameras, but I guess a lot of people didn`t see them, or somehow 12 cameras just didn`t make it onto the tables. We also used the Kodak 15 exp. wedding cameras, and our package also had a card for an announcement, which I guess we should have just given to the DJ ourselves, but I left it with the cameras and all the table cards. Our DJ never made this announcement, so I`m sure he never got this card .. because he was absolutely awesome with hitting all the marks that night.

What I am doing...

At my cousin's wedding, she asked me to go around and make sure to remind people to take pictures and also to tell them that I would be back to pick up the camera at the end of the wedding. Some tables didn't finish the roll of film(disp. camera) so I recruited the younger cousins to finish the pics. They came out great!!!

Scavenger Hunt

You could include: a picture of the couple married the longest, a picture of the person/people who traveled the furthest to get to the wedding
