Table cameras? Can't decide

I cannot decide if we should buy cameras for each table. I hate how the look (unless you find the nice white colored ones) and I've heard complaints such as guests not knowing how to use the flash, taking wasted pictures, etc. But it would be great to get a few shots the photographer may miss.

is it worth the money to buy the cameras and develop the film?

Re: Table cameras? Can't decide

TERI
definitely do it
I got a lot of bad ones, mainly b/c people dont read the camera and table tent!!! but I got some great pics too
I got the pretty wines w/
our wedding day
flowers and champagne bottles, etcc.... pink and white
and www.bridalstuff.com
for 4.75 a camera or 4.95 w/ a table tent which was also pretty
check it out
and I paid 140.00 to develop 18 cameras including the doubles at the one hr
if you want to wait you will probably pay half to develop
buy the decorated ones, its worth it
tell your DJ to announce to people to press the flash :) wish I had done that

Re: Table cameras? Can't decide

Ive decieded I'm NOT going to do them. My photographers will be taking tons of photos PLUS I know some of my guests will bring cameras. I really don't need a bunch of dark far away shots of our first dance.

Re: Table cameras? Can't decide

I didn't have them, and I don't feel that we missed out on anything. We have so many pictures, a lot of people gave us doubles of pictures they took at the wedding, and a few people had digital pictures so they e-mailed them to us.

Re: Table cameras? Can't decide

i went throught the same thoughts.. I did decide to go with the table cameras.. i got them through ebay..of course i heard about doing that through this board.. i think for 16 cameras i spent $60-70.. which i thought was pretty good.. and they are wedding cameras with the bride and groom on the cover.. they are cute.. and they are a kodak camera.. i came to the conclusion you can not have enough pictures at the wedding.. and i am sure there will be some wasted shots, but i am sure there will be some good ones too..

hope that helps..

Re: Table cameras? Can't decide

I'm doing it...it's a crap shoot, but I'd like to take a chance of seeing the wedding from my guests eyes... most of the wed cam photos I've seen developed (from other family members) came out pretty good...

Re: Table cameras? Can't decide

I'm def doing it.. I'm one of those big picture people and I always have a camera on me...All of my friends have done the same and they've had some really great shots.. you can also go to certain film developing places where they can provide you with an index of all the pics and then you decide which ones you'd like to have enlarged..

Re: Table cameras? Can't decide

It was a waste...I only got 6...one table took 2 pix out of a whole roll of 27 One table did well. If you do do it, do a small # and only put it at the main tables. A lot of ours came out dark. A lot of people were generous enough to make doubles from their own camera and give them to us. I have already made my first album. Someone even kept one...

Re: Table cameras? Can't decide

I am doing it. I will be getting the 12 exp instead of 24. So I won't have to go through 800 pictures only 400. good luck

Re: Table cameras? Can't decide

I thought it was worth it...

I got the Kodak 15exp wedding photos
I made a little scavenger hunt and told guests to get photos that the photog could not get...(that helped - I got awesome ones of the guests at my wedding...the photog is focussing on you...not your guests...some of my guests are only in the table camera shots)
It came to about $170 for cameras and developing and it was so exciting to have pictures right after the wedding that it made it all worth while!!!

Re: Table cameras? Can't decide

I am doing it, not everyone with a camera can be everywhere, I think you can get some classic shots! I got mine off ebay, they are white with gold lettering and a little poem explaining how to use it. I havea day wedding so I don't have to worry about the flash. The camera's are 400 speed, expire in 2004 and were only 3.45 per camera off if ebay.

Re: Table cameras? Can't decide

I wanted them, but EVERYONE else (FH, my mom, my brother, etc.) has nixed them, so now I am not. My brother had them for his wedding and said they were the biggest waste of money. People took the STUPIDEST shots. From people stuffing food in their faces to wine glasses on the table. Although I did want them, I think they aare right.

Re: Table cameras? Can't decide

I had them and I'm so glad I did!! We also got the 15-exposure Kodak cameras, which I highly recommend, and every picture was taken. We had all of our cameras back and developed them the next day!!! It was great to see wedding pics a day later!!

At least 80% were really great shots, some that my photog missed!! Of course, we had about 10 carpet shots. All in all, it was so worth it!!

Stef: I had plenty of guests w/ cameras, too. I got pics from 2 of them. I'm married 11 months and have yet to receive the pics other guests took!! (each time I see them they say 'oh, I have pics of your wedding to give you'). Really not as important to them, I guess! LOL

Edited to correct my horrific grammar!!
