My FMIL and I had a semi-heated discussion regarding these the other night. I don't want them, because we're getting plenty of proofs from our professional photographers, plus I know my FSIL will be taking tons of pictures (she always does, and she's a great photographer). I don't want the expense of them, and I don't consider the quality to be very good. Do you think these are all good reasons? Plus, I'm curious to see how many people really do them.

We are definitely doing them. We like the idea of having pictues that the photographer may have missed.
I think you have very good reasons for not wanting them.

Re: Table Cameras (poll)
Me and my FH are in disagreement on this.
We're getting an unlimited number of proofs, probably over 1000, so we're not worried about that. But I want people at the tables to have fun with the cameras and get some shots that maybe the photographer might miss (even though she has no time limit and will be there until the end of the reception).
Fh doesn't see the point of the cameras since that's what we're paying the photographer for.

I'd like to do them, tho they're low on the list of must-haves. Sounds like you really don't need them. But I just want to be able to have the candid shots that the photographer sometimes misses bc he's focused on the B&G. Besides, sometimes people forget to bring their cameras.

Re: Table Cameras (poll)
I am not sure if we'll get them. All I can think about was at one of my BM's weddings, FH and another guy walked around each with a camera in hand taking pics of other guest's behinds. How mature!

Re: Table Cameras (poll)
My sister used table cameras and either they walked out with them or the shots were terrible (some camera happy people who took shot of anything and everything). IMO, it was a waste.
ETA: I think the ring bearer got a hold of a couple and there were quite a few shots of people's knees...lol

Re: Table Cameras (poll)
I'm doing them, I actually already purchased them on ebay. I don't want a lot of posed table shots by the photog. I also don't want to miss out on what's going on at the tables etiher.

Probably not. Just another expense that I just can't justify!
If I hit the lotto between now and the wedding though, I might just get them

Re: Table Cameras (poll)
Yea, why not! You can get them real cheap... like $5/camera so if we get 20 of them it would only be $100. What's $100 against a few thousand anyway??????

My feeling is, you can never have too many pics! I have to make sure that I buy them with automatic flashes -- I've heard too many stories of people not pressing the flash button and all the pics come out dark.

Re: Table Cameras (poll)
after going to my friends wedding, not many folks use them. Yes, I made our table do them, but don't the old people. In fact, two tables took the cameras with them thinking they were favors, and they had those stands explaining what they are for.

Keep in mind how much it would cost to DEVELOP all the film, too.
I don't think I will get them because of the cost and I haven't heard great things about the quality and who knows what people will take pictures of. I will probably just rely on the friends and family that bring their cameras to pass along any good shots they take!

We are 100% having them. the only we can't decide on is every table or every other table.

Not getting them either and that is how I justified going over my wedding budget for the professional photgrapher. Its too much $$ for some pics that I probably wont want.

I agree. and with film you could spend tons of money developing them and then get a bunch or crazy pictures!!!
I would rather tke the money and add thing to my photography package.

Re: Table Cameras (poll)
I'm not sure if I am getting them or not, I read something about a scavenger hunt list left on the table for shots to be taken and I loved that idea.

Re: Table Cameras (poll)
Not getting them. First of all, these day almost everyone has a digital camera. Second, the quality of disposable camera pictures are crappy...so like someone said...its a waste of money.
