Since FH and I met studying abroad in Italy, we want to name each table after a city we visited while there.
We have 11 tables and I am worried that people will be confused when walking into the room and not know which direction to go in.
I thought about doing the name of the city and the table number, but I'm afraid it'll look too busy and the escort cards will be to squished.
Do you think it'll be a big deal when guests have to find their seats?
I'm stressing big time about this!

Re: table names
I personally do not think it will be too confusing but then again I want to do something simialar. I am getting negative feedback from my FH and my mom about it. They both think it will be too hard for people to find their seats so I might do table numbers as well. But I feel like even when there are table numbers, by the time you figure out how the tables are numbered (odds on one side or whatever) you have walked around half the room anyway so what's the big deal.

Re: table names
I love that idea.
How about you just put the table number on the escort cards? Then when your guests get to the table, it can have the table number and then the name of the city with a little blurb about the city or what you two did in that city.

Re: table names
I did names and no numbers. I didn't get any feedback on it, so at least I didn't hear any complaints! I had 10 tables and they were different wines. I put a small number on the back just for the RH so they knew where to put them, but I had no numbers on the cards.

Re: table names
Thanks for the feedback. I guess I should just let it go and people will figure it out.

ITA! But I will say, I went to a wedding where the tables were names and not numbers, and no one could find their tables! It wasn't a big deal, but would have been easier if they were numbers. I think this idea could work though - just numbers on the escort cards, then numbers and names on the tables.

Re: table names
We did the names of NY Yankee players and had a table number assigned so it could be easier for people to find the table.
Didnt look squished at all - however some people HAD to make comments about the number not being the players number LOL
anyway here are pics

Re: table names
With only 11 tables I wouldn't be concerned. People will find their way. HTH!
