table number question

table number question

so my BM gave me a floor plan with all their tables and i had to cross off the tables i wasn't going to use and send it back to my BM. but now the tables numbers are not sequential. they're random like 1, 3, 7, 11... and my BM said those numbers are gonna stay the same since thats how they mark their tables. but he said i can change it to make it sequential, but it really doesn't matter. like one table is # 16, but i really only have 14 tables.

is that weird? is anyone else doing it like this?

I think you'll be OK. I am probably eliminating 1-2 tables myself. I would be afraid that I'd confuse the waiters and what not.

lol sorry, i probably didn't explain it clearly.

the floor plan he gave me had 22 tables listed, even #'s on one side, odd #'s on the other side. i had to cross off the tables i didn't want depending on the location of the tables. like i wanted to use the 3 tables that were near the dance floor, but they weren't in sequential order.

I understand how those tables are eliminated. I'd just number them sequentially like he said. The way you number it on your guest list will be for your guest's use and your use only. The way THEY number it will be for the wait staff's use.

ETA: Unfortunately you'll have to use their numbering when giving in your head counts for each table.

i think i'll just use the numbers the way the RH has it set up. if i start changing around the numbers it might get confusing to myself and the BM lol. and i think in the end, it doesnt really matter.
