Table 'Number' Theme

Instead of numbers what is anyone doing for their tables - ex: my cousin did places they've been together. we haven't traveled enough to do that, so looking for other ideas!

we're doing that, too. Although we're not travelers, either. We did restaurants, New York City, Yankee Stadium, the first restaurant we met at, our first date restaurant, our Honeymoon location, etc....

and we're putting a packet at each table explaining our table names/The Story of Us.

I think we may do our favorite wines, and maybe put a bottle or two of that wine on the table (if the RH will allow us to do that)!

ETA - But we are really into wine (and met at a wine bar...)

You should go with something that is special to the two of you!

We were thinking different types of tea names for each table because since the first time we hung out we have had tea (I don't drink coffee) before one of us had to go home from each other's houses.
But I don't know if I like it as table numbers....

A friend had the Italy theme so she had different places in Italy...it was very nice...but I must say, think about adding numbers or some sequence to them...when we went into the room, no one knew which side to go to or anything...it was chaos for a bit...everyone walking everywhere....

We're doing a cooking theme, so our table 'numbers' are cooking herbs: rosemary, thyme, chervil, sage, mint etc. To tie it in, our favors will be little tins filled with one of four or five dried herbs.

If we were having a fall wedding, we definitely would have done the wine theme and named each table after a grape: merlot, chardonnay, reisling, etc.

We are doing places but we havent travelled to enough for the number we need so we did this:

Cancun (vacation)
Turks and Caicos (vacation/engaged)
Puerto Plata (Vacation)
Orlando (vacation-universal)
Lake George (summer weekends)
Boston (Jimmy Buffet concert there)
Albany (we went to college there)
Garden City (Our favorite resturant is there)
Baldwin (we both grew up there)

We have watermark pics of us at these places. Some are recreated, like Garden City and Baldwin.. It is just places that are important to us.

FH and I are doing places that we have lived (seperately and together).

Seattle (me)
Omaha (him)
New York (us)
Miami (us)
Dallas(us)

random, I know, but there are enough places that we have lived to go around to all the tables

I was going to do counties of ireland or castles of ireland... i only have 10 tables or less so i am not sure yet IoI

I would love to do that (or places in Ireland since I was just there) but I can't because mom's family is Irish and dad's Italian so dad fears bad blood. Which I unfortunately agree could happen.

Each table numbered and named after Yankee players (most of the classic players, only a few current ones like Jeter , Paul O'Neill, Mariano Rivera).

My parents were at a wedding recently where the couple got engaged in Las Vegas so they had all the different names of the hotels there. SO then my mom comes home and tells me I should use Disney characters for ours since we got engaged in Disneyworld. Can we say copycat??

Re: Table 'Number' Theme

We thought too late to have Mets jerseys as our table numbers. (Well, small pics of the jerseys. My maiden name is a very famous former Met and we are both huge Mets fans.) It was about 2 months before the wedding and getting this all together was just too much, especially dealing with the hall. But it's an idea.

If you do use anything with numbers, just check with your hall. One thing that detered us from using it, other than time, was that halls have their own table numbers for serving. If you change the numbers, make sure the hall is okay with it. I was warned about this with other brides.
