Anyone using or used table runners? Really want to but don't know the cheapest way to go....where to buy them or where to buy fabric and have them made

TIA

I would try Home Goods. They always seem to have good prices and sales for things like that!

I also want to do table runners, and I was looking around, and they seem really expensive, and I don't have a few hundred dollars extra to throw down for this. I was going to check into renting them, and matching napkins, but I never did. DeAngelis party rentals does it. I actually just ordered (and I am super excited about), organza sheer round table overlays for the middle of the table, and they were 3 dollars each....and they have them in tons of colors. They also have organza chair ribbons too, for cheap.

Sort of like this, but not nearly has big, and no tassles.

This is their website. Good luck!!

for my e-party i made my own...bought fabric from the garment district in manhattan. I did half of it though and then brought to a seamstress to finish it.

I did this bc for some reason i couldn't find chocolate brown table runners that i needed

Re: Table runners

i was thinking of doing something not quite the size of a table overlay but bigger than a 'square' on top of the table. i did like the cake table runner from WOTY with their monogram on it.

I think that's what I'm going to do. I'm looking for chocolate brown as well and can't find reasonably priced ones...where is the garment district?
Thanks...

not using them but I bet you can either make them pretty cheap or buy them in a store for cheap if you hit the right sale!

Came across this seller on eBay. Thought I would share. They have colored runners in different lengths and also table runners for RH.

Re: Table runners

I made my own, quilting is a big part of my life and I wanted to incorporate that into our wedding. Fabric from a quilt shop will generally run you about $10 a yard, you can go to JoAnn's and still get pretty good quality fabric for less, I used muslin for the backing fabric which was much less than quilting fabric. I made 11 table runners and spent about $300-$400 and worked on them many hours, but I was very happy with how they turned out

You could also do a very simple table runner, by buying a home dec fabric (for curtains or furniture) then hem the edges and maybe put a tassle on the ends

You could probably make each one in an hour - JoAnns sells home dec fabric and usually has 40% coupons in the Sunday paper.
