Table Runners and Napkins

Table Runners and Napkins

Hey ladies...I need your thoughts and opinions. My RH only offers ivory/cream table cloths but I want a pop of color! So I have been looking at chocolate runners. Now, to save money, I was thinking of just going with the chocolate runners over the ivory table cloth with the ivory napkins. I really wanted to, though, get napkins to match the runners. But it's proving to be expensive! Do you think I need to match the napkins to the runners??? Do you think the ivory and chocolate will be good?? I'm confused!!!

I think ivory and chocolate are a really warm and inviting duo. If you have the money to do it, then splurge, but I don't think I would force runners into my budget. What about DIYing your own kind of runners, maybe finding lace doilies from thrift stores or etsy and dying them the colors you want?

Well the runners are not really the issue b/c i am finding them for less than $4 a piece - which is great - some even as low as $2! I am just wondering if the napkins should match the runner or is it ok to match the table cloth instead?!

oooh now i get it! sorry! i don't think there's a rule about what the napkins have to match. since everything is ivory, sounds like the linens are pretty on their own, so i wouldn't stress about it. it might also depend on the way your RH sets the tables - if they do a pocket fold with a menu in the plate, i really don't think it will matter, but maybe if the napkins are just on the table I could see where you'd want color.

you're right, this is hard!!

It is right...I think it will be the ivory table cloths and napkins with a chocolate or espresso runner. But I definitely want either the napkins folded a nice way with the menus or I plan on adding some sort of touch - like a napkin ring or embellishment of some sort.

DO NOT USE EFAVORMART! Google their reviews. They have terrible customer service and don't help when something goes wrong.

I got my stuff from LinenTablecloths for my engagement party - Chocolate Brown Organza Sashes and Chocolate Brown Silk Tablecloths and they looked great! They came in a timely manner and there were no worries.

HOWEVER, here is my suggestion to you:
Go through their Ebay store website. That's what I did so that you can have the extra ebay protection that nothing will go wrong. I have heard mixed reviews about them, so I did it through Ebay because they have all the rules and regulations they have to go through if they mess anything up as opposed to no added protection through their own website.

HTH!

I actually just ordered samples from EFavorMart and they ship through TableClothsFactory.com. So we will see!

Also, if you have an AMEX - use it! Just another layer of added protection!

I think chocolate and ivory would be fine together. However, a little tip, I purchased my linens through efavormart.com. They were great quality and inexpensive. You can always sell them after! HTH!

ETA: It was about 1/3 of the cost of renting them!

ETAA: Just saw the comment on efavormart.com. I had NO problems and I've rec'd them to at least 3 other people who all have had NO problems with them. Just my experience!

Thanks for this! Yeah, so far I have had no problems. I actually placed an order Sunday night and afterwards, realized I could have gone a much cheaper route, so I sent them an email and received a response first thind in the morning that they cancelled with no problems! I don't want to get ahead of myself but I thought that was pretty good customer service!
