table seating for parents

DH's parents and my parents were seated separately. If your parents dont want to sit with each other I would say have them sit with their friends so they can enjoy themselves and they can play host. If you want them to be close for pictures and things like that have them sit at adjacent tables

I've been toying with this too. My parents are divorced and are both bringing dates to the wedding. I'm not sure if I'm going to have them sit at the same table or separate but adjacent tables. If I have them sit at the same table, then I need to decide if I should also have them sit with DH's parents.

It's something I'm going to run by everyone and see if they'd even be comfortable sitting together. At my e-party, they all sat at separate tables, but there wasn't any assigned seating, so it was no big deal.

my parents are divorced also. They will each be hosting their own table. My mom's table will have her sisters and close relatives; my dad's will have his brothers and sisters, etc.

FH's parents (who are still married) will also be hosting their own table.

Exact same situation with me

It would really depend on their relationship with eachother. If its a new separation or you don't think they would be comfortable sitting near eachother, then I would def put them at sep tables, maybe with their sides of the family who are invited? If they totally get along and have been around eachother already, then it may not be a big deal. HTH

i think both of your parents should be able to host their own tables, unless they want to sit together..

and your in laws should host a table as well

Ditto here. It's kinda nice to have three 'host' tables.

I'm actually very glad we have a Sweethearts table, too. Then I really don't have to choose!
