Table visits?

Table visits?

I was just wondering what you girls were doing at your weddings in regards to table visits. FH and I decided we will spend the entire cocktail hour saying hello to as many of our guests as possible, but that we wouldn't do table visits because we are having a fairly large wedding (inviting 290) and that it would take a very long time and would take away from a lot of the night.

Is this rude? The last 2 weddings I went to the bride and groom didn't do it and I didn't even think about it till after (and thought it was fine) but I would like to get your opinions. TIA!

Re: Table visits?

I have no plans on doing table visits. After not eating anything at my engagement party I want to make sure I enjoy the wedding. I plan on meeting with everyone at cocktail hour so I will mingle with people there so no one thinks its rude.

We are going to try and get the pics done before the CH starts so we can do all (or majority) of our greetings then instead of when the actual reception starts.

We started to do this. We got around to maybe 2 tables and kept getting pulled in every direction. SO we gave up and started dancing. A few people said it was rude but I just . Uhh I'm a little busy entertaining the other 185 people who came to see me and my husband- if you wanted to chat, you could've come up to us!

I'm not doing them. We are going to be at the CH and make sure to say hello to everyone there - if I don't say hello to you that means you weren't at the CH. I want to ENJOY my reception - eat, drink, dance - so unless it's someone very close to me that missed the CH, I will not be going out of my way to do table visits

Hopefully we will be done with pics by cockatil hour...we will try and mingle a bit at the cocktail hour and then as much as I don't want to get on the mic, maybe we will say thanks to everyone.

We're gonna try to see everyone at CH. We have a small wedding, so this should be quick and painless. LOL

Re: Table visits?

I really want to get the guest greating/thanking out of the way during cocktail hour so that FH and I can sit and enjoy our dinner...

I don't think younger people will miss the table visits but I'm afraid some of the older folk may think it's rude

Re: Table visits?

No way in hell am I going to visit tables.. I'm calculating about 30 tables, and if I spent even just 5 minutes with them (which in unlikely it would be that short) thats like half the wedding

We are doing what you are, going to CH and going to say hello to as many people as we can (hopefully knocked a few hellos out at Church too), then during the wedding we can say hi to people as they pass.. I don't want to spend all my time walking to tables! The last few weddings I've been to I havent noticed the bride and groom do it unless it was a small wedding
