Tacky question....but I still have to ask it

My FI's mom is not contributing to our wedding. Do I still have to purchase her a gift?

I was kinda confused on the issue, I tend to look at things funny. My way of thinking is why am I giving gift when Im the one getting married? But I have you wonderful ladies to guide me in the right direction. I'll get her a picture frame for Things Remebered or something.

His moms' not contributing either, but I've decided to get her a gift, so FH doesn't feel bad about only getting my parents.

we're getting them frames from thingsremembered. Just bought them today.
FIL's are contributing a little though. Also getting all parents albums.
Also we are giving all the grandparents 5x7 frames, even though only one set is helping us. Just thought it would be nice to do.

Yes you should get her a gift. After all, she gave you FH!!! Seriously, though. It could be from both of you just to thank her for being a wonderful mother and blah, blah, blah. That is assuming she isn't a druggie/drunk child abuser or something. I ahve such a way of putting things. It's a gift I tell you! LOL!

I would still get a gift, just because it's his mom. So a nice picture frame with a wedding picture would be very thoughtful.

So what if she is any of those things? Seriously, I hadn't thought about getting the non-contributing parents gifts either...

Re: Tacky question....but I still have to ask it

Just an idea but my sister ordered a couple of things for my parents from FTD to arrive the day after her wedding with a little note saying thanks from both of them. One was a gift basket with different types of stuff from Harry and David and the other was two potted african violets. It was nice since she must have thought about it before the wedding and it arrived the day or the day after they left for their honeymoon.

Besides that she also got both parents sets of pictures and frames and all that jazz.

My MIL to be is not contributing and thinks she has all the say in the wedding. I would love to give her something (sarcastically said). The ol' boot!

We are getting them something small for the wedding day and then after they get a photo album with 20 pics in it and a dvd of the reception. Thats enough!

I didn't think I had to give the parents presents, lol, I was only going to give them to my girlies and have my boy give them to his boys....................then we have to give them to the Marines that will be performing our sword ceremony!
