Re: Tahiti / Bora Bora or Greece
i had the same problem at first when deciding and this is how we figured out which place to go to...First we were set on tahiti/bora bora bc the place looks beautiful and that was the plan for months...but then i started thinking about it and Fh and i are not big beach ppl, infact he hates the beach lol. Not only that but we like a night life and having alot of activities and with tahiti there wasn't much of that. So although an amazing place it wasn't right for us...I then looked at europe and decided on french and italian riviera...it was perfect bc Monaco is all about the casino's which right there alone would make FH happy, theres a big night life, LOTS of restaurants and things to do and see.
So i would say to think about what type of HM you want, whether its relaxing and the beach or doing activities.
For tahiti i have prices, of course this depends where you stay it can make a BIG difference, but average price i would say is about $7k-8k for BOTH

Tahiti!!! We had such an amazing hm! We felt there was plenty to do and it was a perfect combo of rest relaxation and activities.
we never felt bored or had nothing to do. It does cost about $8,000 but it is sooooooo worth it!
we thought about going to europe for our hm however, we didnt want to deal with the language barrier or feel like we had to run around to see all the main tourist spots. figure, you are already running around doing wedding stuff, you are going to really want to slow down the pace and just chill out.
that's my advice.... i have a review on the brides review boards... feel free to check it out! and fm anytime!
good luck!!

at this point though i don't care how expensive..its a once in a lifetime thing right?!?! lol that ***** that its not all inclusive though! and is there any night life in bora bora? i know tahitit doesn't have much..that steers me away from there also..because me and fh are partyers! lol if you don't mind what were you quoted for monaco? sounds like fh's dream come true!

yeah there are activities sorry if anyone got the wrong idea...I just meant mostly about a nightlife, and most reviews i read theres like 3-4 restaurants that ppl mentioned going to.
Like i said it depends on the person, everyone is different and looking for different things...Also another big factor for us is i dont care for the beach, FH HATES the beach and we never lay out...even when we were on a cruise and went to the caribbean the most we laid out was 1 hour during our ENTIRE one week trip and even that one hour we forced ourselves just to get some color lol....we even went to miami recently and didnt go anywhere near the beach lol, we would say to eachother everyday we should at least lay out by the hotel pool and we never did
And i agree about europe and going nuts, thats why we are going to just monaco and capri, not major cities where theres tons of tourists sites and alot of running around. Also monaco and capri also have beaches and that more relaxed environment so if we choose that we can.
Everyone is different thats why i suggested to the OP to find one that suits her...not knocking tahiti, i think it looks amazing and infact for close a year it was what we wanted to do. Also not trying to sell europe to her, the only reason i brought it up is to show her what we choose and why.

Re: Tahiti / Bora Bora or Greece
not really a night life, buty ou go take a boat to get to restaurants, which makes the whole dinner thing an event in itself. its a lot fo fun.
your day normally consists of wake up, do your business, go on an excursion -which takes about 2-3 hours of your day, come back relax shower, beach whatever, and get ready for dinner. a boat picks you up on the dock and than a van takes you to your destination- all this is taken care of for you. you dont have to worry about a thing.
and then by the time u get back, you take a bubble bath together and yadda yadda yadda.
bring alcohol into your room and there's the party! tahiti is really not as boring as you would think. there us plenty to do! you will never feel bored.
and the cost is about $8-9000 total ( for two people, not per person) but that doesnt include food, although you can buy packages that include dinner or breakfast.

we thought about doing capri/pasitano italy- def want to make a vaca trip out there someday.. anyhow, there are pros and cons to every hm destination, which is what makes the whole deciding factor a pain in the arse!

I dont think its boring, i really dont want anyone to think im knocking tahiti, i just said it wasnt suited for us personally, we tried to convince ourselves at first bc of how amazing it does look.
There are activities so i had told FH we can do that, although it S*cks bc of me since i dont swim lol so alot of activities would be out for us, i have gone snorkeling like 3x though but it also depends on my mood that day, i have a fear of large bodies of water lol but i do try to overcome this.
One thing FH really looks for in a trip is casinos so i wanted to get that in there somewhere. Not only that but everytime we've gone away we hated being on a schedule, even on the cruise we hated having to have dinner at a certain time, sometimes we were like ugh we just got back to the room and would HAVE to hurry up and get ready in order to make it to dinner. I know with excursions and having to make dinner reservations in tahiti we would have to be on some sort of schedule lol.
We're just different and thats why i wouldn't influence anyone to go with my ideas bc i know this...We went on a cruise with 12 ppl and we barely saw them bc they were always doing different timed activities on the ship going to mixology classes, dance lessons, shows and all that and we did none of that. We would see them at dinner and thats about it lol. We had an amazing time but our schedules were just different from everyone...We would get back to the room everynight around 4am and start our day later, not too late but still.

Wow, I knew it would be a little expensive, I guess we will have to decide how many nights we wanted to spend in the over water huts and how we want to spend out $ and how long!

im waiting until november to look into the honeymoon. I have looked up hotels in monaco and saw their prices, can be a little pricey. As far as airfare and everything i dont know yet, we have a general idea but cant say for sure...BUT i just saw that this girl i know went to monaco recently, she put up pics on myspace so im gonna ask her for info.
ALso just saw bunny's post that its $8k for both sorry i thought it was per person, in the brochure it doesnt say whether its for one person or both so i assumed its per person since usually the price usually is per person. Hmmmm thats not that bad then

Re: Tahiti / Bora Bora or Greece
Basically we want a place that has a lot of water excursions or sports (snorkeling, jet skiing, para sailing, scuba diving, shark diving (thats all FH)) Also, I want it to be romantic and some what secluded if we want it to be. I want some kind of night life too! Hmmm, is there such a place???
