Tahiti / Bora Bora or Greece

FH and I are ready to book our HM and we are torn between Greece and Tahiti/Bora Bora. Has anyone been to either place or booked their HM at either? FM me prices if you can!

Oh wow, I just looked at your review. Your HM looked amazing! I think wherever we go will be amazing! FH is really pushing toward Tahiti though! I'm sure I will FM you with questions later if you don't mind! hehe

Dont worry yet! This happened to me once, then I called the hotel and they said they weren't posting the rooms online that far ahead but there were tons of available rooms. They just preferred you called since it was so far ahead. Im crossing my fingers that its the same in your case!

phew thank you, i just got so nervous...at first im like maybe bc its memorial day weekend but duh they dont have that there lol, or just thought maybe theres an event i dont know about

I know how you feel, when I was looking to book that hotel I freaked out because it said no availability, and I was looking so far in advance! I was like how far in advance did these people book? Like 2 years! So I called and they told me not to worry! They should just post that on the site Then I wouldnt have freaked out! Im sure thats the case for you though!

I'm not sure- I have been looking on there recently to get ideas on prices for summer 08. I've been looking for hotels in bora bora, fiji and maldives and keep getting the same message for all hotels

I haven't been able to check our specific dates, though, b/c its still too early

ahhh thats what it probably is, theres no way ALL these places have every room booked, you even said you looked at numerous places so i doubt it. I just went to a hotels site instead of doing expedia or one of those and it says they have no rates now for the specific date

Exactly! Plus, I told you I freaked out about this before. haha! Plus we are all looking in diferent places too, so there is no way they are all booked! I feel better now. Oh, and how would anyone book a trip then, people do last min. trips all the time!

true, don't they get a block of rooms at a discounted rate? it might be too far in advance for them to have this for certain places//

yeah im fine now, and like i said when i went to the hotels own site it just said they dont have rates YET so thats what it is.

BUT for kristin, i looked up prices for Hotel paris in monaco which is one of the best hotels there. I just put in todays date and put departure next week so just 7 days, just to get an idea. NOW the thing is that im not sure for monaco what their high seasons are and low seasons...one hotel went by low season, high season and very high season, i wanna know if mine is high or low, i saw one place that it was low and another place high

But here are this hotels rates for 7 days and remember its hotel ONLY, but i think its bc this time of year is low season, usually a night is close to what the whole stay is listed for these prices

well ive been to Greece and you will not be sorry theres alot of site seeing...i had the time of my life..sooo much to see and so beautiful it was perfect...

im going to tahiti/ bora bora on HM and I dont think theres much to see as far as site seeing. We want to relax.....so if thats what you want then this is the ultimate hm IMO

i had the same problem at first when deciding and this is how we figured out which place to go to...First we were set on tahiti/bora bora bc the place looks beautiful and that was the plan for months...but then i started thinking about it and Fh and i are not big beach ppl, infact he hates the beach lol. Not only that but we like a night life and having alot of activities and with tahiti there wasn't much of that. So although an amazing place it wasn't right for us...I then looked at europe and decided on french and italian riviera...it was perfect bc Monaco is all about the casino's which right there alone would make FH happy, theres a big night life, LOTS of restaurants and things to do and see.

So i would say to think about what type of HM you want, whether its relaxing and the beach or doing activities.

For tahiti i have prices, of course this depends where you stay it can make a BIG difference, but average price i would say is about $7k-8k per person

its not all inclusive...yeah its for one of the huts, it depends i saw some packages that are like $5-6k per person. I have a brochure with different packages and pricing for alot of things

Also ive seen quite a few girls on LIW who went to tahiti post how much they paid and most said 7k-8k

i can double check the brochure to make sure its per person but most things when you look up prices its always per person


Wow, I knew it would be a little expensive, I guess we will have to decide how many nights we wanted to spend in the over water huts and how we want to spend out $ and how long!
