We're looking at possibly going to either Tahiti or the Maldives for our honeymoon. My FH seems to have his heart set on Tahiti, but the cost is a little more, and it's slightly out of budget. Anyone go to either these places for their honeymoons? Opinions?
I feel like at the Maldives we'll get a 'better bang for our buck'. We'll be able to stay in an overwater bungalow the entire time and can stay at an all inclusive resort. Tahiti we'll split time between Moorea and Bora Bora and will only be overwater for a about half the trip. Oh and no jacuzzi!
However, for the time of year, Maldives is a little more wet than Tahiti and it isn't the prime time to go diving. Tahiti is gorgeous in September! We also feel like there will be more stuff to do in Tahiti (possibly some hiking) in addition to the water activities. Was anyone bored in the Maldives?

My FH and I are going to Tahiti/Moorea/Bora Bora for our Honeymoon. We looked at prices and compared to what we wanted for Hawaii it was not going to be much more. We also figured that we could go to hawaii another time and Tahiti is once in a life time experience.

Do you mind FM more info for Tahiti? What you're paying/what's included? Me and my FH went to Hawaii last year and paid about half of what we were quoted for Tahiti - and we stayed in Hawaii for longer.
Maldives also is a once in a lifetime location in my opinion. So it's really deciding which place we rather go.

I got a fabulous quote for 5 nights in Moorea and 5 nights in Bora Bora. We will be booking next month!
Also, we priced out with about 5 different Ta's and one was ALOT cheaper then the other for the exact same thing. Some places take a lot of commission while others are more reasonable. Also, some places charge you alot more for insurance while others charge you a minimal and reasonable fee so make sure you ask the questions before booking.

DH and I went to Maldives for our HM and we went in June and one of the tour guides told us that their wet season/monsoon season is for 2 months only and the rest of the year is dry. and those 2 months happen to be may/june when we went. It rained one day only and it was at night time so it didn't affect us at all! i wanted to go to tahiti also but we were def getting more for our buck w/ maldives. good luck - either place will be a great choice!

We got quotes for several places in the Maldives - the hotel we are most interested in is the 'Centara Grand Island Resort'....which is an all-inclusive resort.
Do you mind FMing who you used for a TA for Tahiti?
