Is anyone going to Tahiti (Bora Bora, Moorea) for their honeymoon??
We are thinging of going and KNOW it's pricey, but if we don't do it now we prob never will. Once kids come along and bills pile up we know it just won't happen.
Soooo is anyone going? -What kind of budgets are you trying to stick to? -What time of year are you going? (We're thinking of going Nov/Oct) -What islands are you going to? -Where are you staying? -Did you use a specific travel agent or website?
-How much (realistically) do you think we'd need for a 2 week vacation? (Hotel/food/flight/drinks/etc)
Hope this can help us choose something and give us a better idea. THANKS SO MUCH!!

Re: Tahiti or No??
I AM!!![ that's how I felt too...but it's a ONCE in a lifetime! So we booked our trip :) It really depends on where you want to stay - we are staying at 4-5 star hotels and staying a bunch of nights in overwater bungalows. I'm going end of July for 10 days. 1 night in Tahiti, 4 nights in Moorea, 4 nights in Bora Bora. We used a travel agent - FM if you want the info. I contacted a bunch of travel agents - narrowed down which places we wanted to stay at and asked them to price what we wanted and picked who gave us the best bang for its buck. 2 week vacation would probably cost you...$10-$15k depending on how lavishly you want to live. You should check out the Honeymoon Forum.
HTHs :)

We booked our honeymoon to Fiji for October and then a friend told me that Costco was advertising great deals. Not sure if they have Tahiti as an option, but their prices seemed reasonable and they had great deals for Fiji.

Re: Tahiti or No??
We are going to Tahiti on our 1st Anniversary _ May/June 2011....as we bought a house about a month ago (getting married on Sunday) and figured it would be more important to spend our money on a house right now (since we originally wanted to go as our HM right after the wedding). We are 75% booked for our 2011 Tahitian trip and it will be costing us about $10k (we are getting free airfare as our Best Man is a pilot for Delta), and we are chartering a sailboat (we both sail - so excited for this) for a week, then spending a week in one of the over the water bungalows (not sure which hotel as FH wont tell me). It is def the trip of a lifetime (and our baby making trip lol) so we are totally ok with spending a small fortune on it!

Re: Tahiti or No??
I say that if you have the funds now, go. You are right, you will never know when you will have that chance again. Especially if you are going to have kids right away.
This is my argument to FH about why we should go now, because if we don't we probably won't ever go.. He hates long flights though... I don't have any advice on booking because I'll probably never go but my best advice is go now when you can!!! It's my dream destination lol
yes definitely go now when you have time and a chance to go before the babies start to come...and life gets even more hectic
