Re: tahiti questions

We spoke to the travel agent and also priced what it would be to stay in Tahiti, it did not pay to stay in the overwater bungolows, we are going on a cruise to Tahiti, that way the food is taken care of etc.

Re: tahiti questions

Sonia-
I have done a TON of research for out Tahiti honeymoon in July. I think I am most into planning this out of all the wedding things! It was so helpful to buy Tahiti and French Polynesia by Jan Prince. The book is awesome and gives descriptions of restaurants as well as price ranges. You should get it. It also has what do do sections, hotel sections, etc.
From what I have found, you can eat dinner for $10 each or $70 each depending on the fanciness of the restaurant. I think we will probably split the nights--1/2 inexpensive and 1/2 more expensive. Plus I read that you should go to the local markets and pick up fresh baguettes, cheese, fruit, juice, wine and other good stuff for breakfast or light lunch.
Also, check out www.tahiti-explorer.com and go to the trip reviews or travel forums page. Alot of my questions were answered there.
I'm sorry I can't say anything about Intercontinental resorts, as we are staying in the Sofitels. But, we are purposefully going to Tahiti, Bora Bora and Moorea to be able to stay in the overwater bungalows (we are staying in a garden bungalow for 2 of the 9 nights to save a little money! ).
FM me if you want some more info. --Alison
