I've already booked my HM but am now trying to plan my itinerary of activities.
Could you please recommend or warn us of things to do?
Has anyone done the private picnic in Bora Bora? Please recommend one? I have no idea how to differentiate.
And please give reviews of restaurants? FP is notorious for expensive bad food.
Has anyone done the lava tube trek or waterfall abseiling in Tahiti?
All I know is I plan to go to Bloody Mary's.

Re: Tahiti/Bora Bora Suggestions
On Moorea we went to alfredos- italian place, that was really good. if you are staying at the Pearl on Moorea they will pick you up, but if staying at the sheraton, you can walk. The food was great. I had a bolognese sauce pasta and dh had 'Fettucine Alfredo' The Fettucini alfredo was very expensive- i guess cause it is there specialty- it was 38 xfp's or something.. our bill that night was about 150 xfps- which is like 150 dollars almost. We went here with another couple which was so much fun- myself and this girl Amelia sand with the guy who plays that weird instrument- he is there on Tuesdays i think.. Make sure you go!
Also, for Pizza- one night we decided to stay in, so we ordered Alto Pizza- we ordered one, but it wasnt enough for us. One pizza is about 25 xfp's.. we got the pineapple and ham pizza - yum. they forgot to send napkins, so we ate and used toilet paper to wipe! HA
On Moorea also, we went to Le Sud, which was walking distance from the Pearl but they will also come pick you up. The food was good there- we enjoyed it, very ethnic.. The dinner bill was about 100 here.. we each had one drink. I forget what i ate at Le Sud- but be careful when you order the Large Prawns- aka Large Shrimp- they come with the heads and tails and eyes still on.. Dh was a little nervous, so i had to pull them apart before he would eat them.
On Bora Bora- we ate at our hotel because our meals were included, but one night we did eat at Bloody Mary's and it was fabulous.. We had the Mahi Mahi and the Mako Shark. DELICIOUS>>> ALso cost around 100 - we each had a drink and dessert- make sure you have the coconut ice cream.
Everyone warned us that the service was so slow, but it fact quite the contrary. we were very happy with the service. we enjoyed each others company and it gave time for us to 'gaze' into the others eyes.. Dinner took about an hour to an hour and a half depending.. At Alfredos we stayed about 3 hours, cause we were hanging out..
Hope to help!

Re: Tahiti/Bora Bora Suggestions
Moorea: Activities:
Hiro's Ray and Shark Feeding - This tour lasts most of the day and was awesome. You swim with the sharks and rays and then they bring you to an island for a barbeque. The guides were very entertaining and the food at the BBQ was good :)
Albert's Jeep Safari Tour - Fun tour guide, great photo ops, and alcohol distilliary! Highly recommened.
Restaurants:
Te honu Iti - My second favorite meal. Request a table by the water when making your reservation so you can watch the stingrays while eating.
Le Sud- We went here for lunch. I only ordered pizza, but it was good and DH loved his meal!
Alfredos- We had an awful experience here. The food was medioacre at best, and the service was AWFUL! They do pick you up, but going home was a nightmare. We had to wait almost an hour for the van and two couples actually strated walking!!
Bora Bora Activities:
Aqua Safari - This was my favorite activity!! If you don't dive, then this may be the closest you get. You are underwater for a 1/2 hour. Incredible!
Restaurants:
La Villa Manhana - Our favorite meal!! Absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is amazing!
Bloody Mary's - Cool experience and fun atmosphere.
Top Dive - Another one of our favorites. Beautiful, romantic atmosphere and delicious food!
Pirate's Bar - Standard lunch. Beautiful views.

I would add the shark/ray feeding and Kaina Hut restaurant to the Bora Bora list.

The one thing that I have to - HAVE TO recommend is to go eat at La Villa Manhana
The food is AMAZING, the setting is so romantic. You won't even feel like you're in Bora Bora, you'll feel like you're in a little restaurant in Italy. But you have to make reservation in advance. Our travel agent made them for us before we even got there.
