Taken from 07 boards.. Waiting??

I know this day in age for someone to wait til their wedding night to have sex is amazingly difficult..

To any one who is..

But do you plan on abstaining from sex for a while before the wedding??

I was actually thinking about it. I know it would be really really hard But i think it would make that night a lil more special.. not that it needs to be anymore special.. but you get what im saying right??

Thats what i keep going through

FH and i have gone for 2-3 weeks before but never longer than a month after the initial time.. But I would LOVE to wait like 3 months.. But i doubt i'd be able to

I get what you're saying ......We've talked about abstaining before the wedding but I'm not sure for how long???

Hmmm dont know havent really given this any thought...But i am thinking that it will get a bit insane the last few weeks before the wedding especially the two weeks before that we might be running around and be too busy for that so maybe.

But yeah it def can relieve stress so it might help

Thats true.. we'll be extremely busy and tired from being busy.. so that may be the last thing on our minds.. doubt it.. but maybe..

Ok I had a friend that did this for a whole month prior to the wedding...I just don't get it?! Was this to make her feel like a virgin, that in that month she'll forget what it's like to have sex with FH and it will be special? IMO unless you're a virgin or you're not a virgin but you've never slept with FH, other than that I think it's just stupid to 'hold out'. But as stated before this is just my 'opinion'!

I dont know. I see your point. And going back and forth about it I get both sides of it, which is why i dont know if we'd do it.. Because when we go weeks without it and then do it again for the first time in weeks, idk but it feels slightly better because it has been a while.. just in my opinion.. But i can also see me wanting it as much as possible

all i can say is, if it's true that married people hardly EVER have sex...then why deprive ourselves now?! from what they say, there'll be plenty of time for that later on.

As far as I am concerned every time I am with him it's special. Waiting doesn't seem to make anything more special.

And the major consensus seems to be that it doesn't happen wedding night anyway because you are too tired, more like the morning after...

its difficult for me and fh to have time alone as it is... so hopefully in may /june 2008 when we move in together we will be happy as a pig in sh**
so i dont think we weill be asbtaining AT all!

I want to try abstain for a week. We'll see how that goes. I am kicking out FH that week...lol I don't want him to see my dress at all and I think it will be something to look forward to also when we come back to each other at the wedding. I mean I will see him during the day and stuff but he won't be sleeping over..lol

I think regardless if you hold out or not it will be special on your wedding night because it will be the first time as a married couple.
