Taking pics by Whitestone Bridge??

Taking pics by Whitestone Bridge??

Since our ceremony is in Ozone Park and the reception is in Douglaston (Queens), we want to take some pics somewhere scenic not too far from our hall (we only have about 2 hours between the end of church and the beginning of cocktail hour).

Did anyone take pics by the Whitestone Bridge? Or is planning on taking pics there? And if you have any pics, that would be great!!

I'm trying to find out what the name of the park is over there and if there's any fees.

If anyone knows of any scenic areas near Douglaston or around northern Queens- please share!!

Thanks!!!

Maybe Fort Totten? You get a nice view of the bridge and the water.
Good luck!

The park by the Whitestone Bridge is called Whitestone Park. Not sure if you need a permit though. My guess is no.

What about the Queens Botanical Gardens?

I took my e-pics in the park by the Whitestone Bridge. No permit was needed. Here is a picture of my STD which has some of my e-pics.

thanks for the suggestion!!! Do you know how far the Queens Botanical Garden would be from Douglaston? (exit 24 off of the Grand Central).

I want to take some family pics at the hall too, we should be done at the church by 4:15, and cocktail hour starts at 6:30. The church is only about 20 minutes from the hall- so I need a place that is close to Douglaston. Thanks for your help!!

Thank you!! There was also a large grassy area there as well. It also shouldn't be too far from Douglaston. You should go visit and have a picnic with FH!

OMG!! I'm really excited about this idea! Mimi actually thought of it, but she didn't know the name of the park.....Douglaston Manor's grounds are beautiful, but I found out from another bride that I'll be restricted from where I can take pics on the golf course, so then I was thinking I'm better off finding someplace that I can do whatever I want. At least this way all my pics won't be too repetitive if I take them all at Douglaston. Glad you like the idea too!!

Re: Taking pics by Whitestone Bridge??

I took pics from my first wedding there...although it was Oct. & there were 3 other bp's there taking pics...hard for photog to get all shots he wanted.

Fort Totten is a good idea, off Utopia Pkway actually, not Ft. Totten (large area by bridge)

There is also Bowne Park in Flushing w/ a little pond, pine trees, little paths with lightposts

Kissena Park in Flushing

Queens Botanical Gardens is in Flushing close to Booth Mem. HOspital, although I think you need a permit or have to pay.

You do not have to pay for any of the other places, no permit

thanks!! good to know that it can get busy over there with other BP's.....I guess I'll have to figure out which is the best location as far as distance from the hall and all the other factors.
