Re: Taking Pictures Before Church
We aren't doing a church ceremony since we live far from the RH. We are going to take pics before the ceremony NOW... after reading a post a while back...some of you ladies convinced me it made more sense. We're still going to get the 'shock' pictures with the photog... but we REALLY want to enjoy CH... it is going to be Sooooo much fun.

I am taking pictures before the ceremony. We are having the ceremony and the reception at the same place. I didn't want to miss the whole cocktail hour.

I feel the same way. I'm paying so much for the cocktail hour i dont want to miss it. Plus i figured i would use that time to socialize with everyone so that i can just enjoy myself during the reception

I am definately not - i spent all this time on the perfect dress, etc - i want him to be WOWED when those church doors open and he sees me walking towards HIM - i get goose bumps LOL
I totally agree with you.
The photographer took this amazing close-up picture of my DH when he first saw me. I absolutely love the picture.
Afterwards, he said 'you blew me away'.

We are taking pics before the ceremony..I figure we already live together so we are not really all that traditional to begin with! Plus it meas a lot to us to have our friends in the bridal party get to spend time with their dates at cocktail hour and we really want to be at CH as well!
I do have one surprise for our outdoor ceremony- I will be wearing a blusher with my veil when I walk down the aisle with my dad that I wont be wearing for the pics before.
It's def. a very personal decision and we were both 100% comfortable with it- but FMIL was a bit surprised when we told her! haha

We're doing the same thing.

we are taking pics before the ceremony as well. i am getting married at the rh and to be honest you do not lose any of the romanticized wedding facial expressions or memories. it is just a personal choice on whether you want to take them before or after. i chose before because i am paying for the wedding myself and i want to be able to enjoy my time at the rh while the party is going on. i do not want to be seperated constantly for pics and what not. this is all up to you though. its a personal choice.
