Anyone else not going on their HM immediately following (I mean, within a week) of the wedding?
I initially wanted to go within a few days, but we won't be living together until we're married...there will be quite a bit of moving in/getting settled and such.
I'm thinking better to get things as settled as possible, and then go on a HM, instead of coming back to chaos...

Re: Taking some time before the HM?
we're waiting. I dont have enough vacation days to take the days off before and after the wedding that I need so we are going to go on a mini moon a few days after and save the real HM for Feb/March

Waiting seems to be a new trend, eh? Most likely we are going to wait as well. It does make a lot of sense to go home, relax, get thing settled and then go off on a HM. Would you consider doing a mini-moon right after? Just a few days somewhere local to be alone and get that honeymoon feel??

Re: Taking some time before the HM?
We are going on a cruise 3 weeks after the wedding. The one we wanted wasn't available right after. I cant wait. Its great because after the wedding we have something else to look forward to.

no set plans as of yet but we will be waiting until FH has time off. he's a teacher so we'll have to go during a school break.

Re: Taking some time before the HM?
i originally was going to wait a few days but then decided that i wanted to leave right away so we didnt have to take extra days off work and could just get right to Hawaii and relax after the stress of wedding planning is over!!

Re: Taking some time before the HM?
FH is a teacher too so we are doing a mini-moon (4 nights) about 2 weeks later after the semester is over... we are then doing the real honeymoon in the summer and going to alaska... by then, it will be something else to look forward too, more $$ in our pockets, and more vacation time!

Re: Taking some time before the HM?
We went a week after the wedding. But i did not back to work. I took time off to relax, hang out with my mom (who was in town for wedding) and just spend time w/ DH. Then we left for our Italy HM.

Re: Taking some time before the HM?
Actually we are taking our HM about 3 months later, but that is because FH's job won't allow him to take 3 weeks together and coz we got a better deal on out cruise.

We're probably going to have to wait a few weeks too. We are looking to go on a cruise as well and we're anxiously waiting for the cruiseline to release their May-June 2011 itineraries. We may have to wait a few weeks to ensure we go on the cruise with the itinerary we want.
eta: Ideally I wish we could go immediately after the wedding....but if we have to wait to get the itinerary we want...then we will wait.

Re: Taking some time before the HM?
We're doing a mini moon in the Hamptons and then Thailand in November. I love that I get to look forward to the Honeymoon months after the wedding hype is over! Hopefully we'll also have more money to spend on honeymoon .
