Tall Centerpiece Question.....

For those girls doing tall glass centerpieces... and renting the vases etc...
Are you afraid someone will try to take the CP home with them???

YES!!!! But my stuff is going to be so elaborate I am hoping no one with try to negotiate it out of the place.

Re: Tall Centerpiece Question.....

This almost happened at my brothers wedding, the older couples were even trying to put the candles in their purses.....they had to have the band announce that only the flowers in the vases were ok to take home, not the vases or anything else that was part of the centerpiece.....

OMG my FMIL was saying that she has seen ppl try to take them before. I thought that was CRAZY. I would NEVER do that.
I wonder if any of the past brides have had theirs taken~~!!!

Re: Tall Centerpiece Question.....

at my friends wedding in january they made a couple of announcements that only the flowers were to be taken home. I think that announcement worked.

Just to be on the safe side I would have an announcement made and have a few close ppl be undercover cp guards to ensure they don't 'disappear'. And I stress subtle cause you don't want them to act like hawks.

yeah i'm VERY scared..

korean people tend to take everything..

if someone takes it i'll have to pay for it.
maybe i'll put a sign on there that says 'do not touch'

Re: Tall Centerpiece Question.....

lol i was worried about this too bcuz my family is KNOWN for going crazy with the centerpieces. we had to come up with a game at family events to avoid DRAMA. we tape a piece of paper underneath one chair at the table and whoever is sitting at that chair gets the centerpieces. or a variation of this game since now they all look underneath the chairs! they are the worst i swear! lol

ANYWAY my florist told me that the staff at my RH is always on the lookout and will let guests know they can ONLY take the flowers.

Re: Tall Centerpiece Question.....

I have a feeling my family will try to do the same thing...so I'm considering actually buying the vases so people could take it home because it wouldn't be too much money. But I haven't decided yet......

Re: Tall Centerpiece Question.....

Unfortunately, I had to make an announcement about not taking the vases because a few people were plotting and schemeing about how they were going to get this 5ft monstrosity in their cars

Re: Tall Centerpiece Question.....

i'm having tall centerpieces too and am also wondering how to handle this situation...mine are dogwood branches so i'm wondering will people even want to take them? i just can't picture people take branches out of water and throwing in the back of there car, you know? then what do i do throw them all out? i'm having an arrangement around the base maybe people will just take those...

Re: Tall Centerpiece Question.....

well pedestals is having 2 guys come at the end of the night and they will wrap each cp up and give it to some of the guests . I think i might have the DJ make an announcement that they will be wrapped up so this way ppl will know not to take it instead of saying 'DONT TAKE THE VASES HAHAHA . I do have to be careful bc fh's family always take the cp's and whatever else lol

at my friends wedding this past October, a couple took the tall vase home and then filled it with beer and sent them a picture of it!
