I personally think centerpieces are beautiful either way but I understand why some feel the tall ones change the ambiance of a room.
I was curious to know why others chose low vs. tall centerpieces.....
I think we should go with low due to $$ but FH wants the tall ones.

Re: Tall vs Low Centerpieces
I went with high bc they really have an impact on the room when they are high, I feel like they dont 'pop' when they are low
consider doing half high, high low to save money
or go to a florist that doesnt charge based off high/low Im pretty sure my florist does not charge for high CPs if you use a vase...if you want a candelabra or fancy stand then she charges you for that to rent Im using stylish events!

Re: Tall vs Low Centerpieces
I prefer short because I like to see the people at my table. tall ones just annoy me because they get in the way. However I've seen some stunning tall ones, just not my thing

We had 20 tables. I did half up, half down. The low's were half the price of the high's. It added dimension to the room, we got the 'wow' factor of the high cp's, but we saved a lot of money by having half and half.

ITA! We did the same thing and it really helped to make the room pop. It also set a different feeling at each table. It was nice to look around and see and looks great in pics too.

We are also doing half tall and half short. I love both of my CP designs, and I think they will both give a different but beautiful look

this.
also, my room has very high ceilings and i didn't want the low centerpieces to be lost in the room or unnoticed.

Re: Tall vs Low Centerpieces
i plan on doing low center pieces...i want people to be able to talk to each other, and my room has windows over looking beautiful gardens so I don't want to compete with that.

I also did half high CP and half low I really think the high give a certain POP to the room.
We're on a budget but I didn't want to lose that factor so we chose half and half.
I would definately recommend going to Burton's. They are WAYYYYY affordable and you might even find that you can do all high!
We have 20 tables so I guess it depends on your budget and how many tables you have

Re: Tall vs Low Centerpieces
I think people do low because they a less expensive, also i think people do low if they have a smaller wedding it might make the room look bigger?? Just a thought i could be totally wrong... I know people do a mixture of tall & low to cause 'drama' in the room.. Im getting married at the inn at new hyde park and the ballroom is HUGEE with super high ceilings so I kind of need to go high on the center peices (and im totally ok with that!! heeh) HTH!!!!!

Re: Tall vs Low Centerpieces
We're doing low centerpieces to try and create a very intimate space. The room we're getting married in is also intimate and we felt higher centerpieces, although they are gorgeous, would take away from the feeling of the room. We also love the decor of it, so wanted the flowers to compliment it rather than distract from it.

I say this is the perfect compromise!

Re: Tall vs Low Centerpieces
we are actually mixing it up. We are going to have half the tables with high submerged CPs and half with low centerpieces. The way the room is set up with the tables the high CPs are going to lie the back tables along the window and the low ones will be on the tables near the dancefloor, that way no one's view will be obstructed.

Re: Tall vs Low Centerpieces
my florist only charges $25more per CP to have a high CP, so we decided to go all high because making them low didn't save us much money and IMO it makes a world of a difference.
