I was so worried this weekend about tan lines and all I have are halter top bathing suits, so when we anchored out with FH and his friends this weekend I wore my halter top bathing suit and loaded the sunscreen around the suit to avoid lines. Except FH did my back and missed my shoulders completely. They are burnt (like can't sleep burnt). I am so upset and afraid my back will peel. But at least no halter top lines.
What precautions are you girls taking with summer sun and your dresses?

Re: tan line fears
I have tan lines that I somehow have to get rid of
I think starting tomorrow I am going to lay in the sun only showing my shoulders and chest (will put some sunscreen on) and will only try to lay out everyday for 15-20 minutes and pray that my tan lines go away....
will that work??

I don't know. I was thinking of doing something similar once my burn is no longer painful. I think your best bet is to go out around 4pm, outside peak time. Better for your skin and less chance of burning.

Re: tan line fears
I was thinking about this earlier today because I'm getting serious tan lines from running (tank tops) I can wear tees to run in but that's not going to help much but I need to run or I'll be too fat to fit in my dress plus I'm going to get a little color on my cruise at the end of the month and on the boat this summer. Topless deck it is!

Re: tan line fears
I have a strapless bathing suit and that's all I'll wear out in the sun When I'm out during the day and a bathing suit isn't appropriate I've just been seriously lathering up with the sunscreen.
I figure some tan lines are inevitable though so I plan on going to the tanning salon once or twice a week for the month before the wedding to even everything out.

Re: tan line fears
ive pretty much just been flashing the entire world when i wear a bathing suit because instead of tieing it around my neck where it should go, i tie it around my back lol so far so good!
if you do peel you should be good by ausut 8th? you can also get a spary tan over it to even it out

12-3 is peak time, you don't want to go during peak time. Its bad for your skin and more chance to get burned.

Re: tan line fears
I have to avoid tan lines on my chest, shoulders, AND back because my gown has a very low back. I've been wearing this bikini from VS because it has removable straps and still stays up (bandeaus do nothing for me). As for my back, if I have lines the week before, I might get airbrushed.

I bought something similar.
Make sure to always wear sunscreen though because even if you are out for a little bit with a tank on you'll get lines

Buy a tube top bathing suit so if you are outside you don't have to deal with tans lines.

I only wear tube tops. Luckily I have small boobies. That's it! And sunblock of course.
With dresses it's not like I'm straight in the sun usually...I have a lot of those babydoll shirred top dresses that I wear in the summer.

Re: tan line fears
Also ladies, a great way to FIX tan lines is with the gradual tanning creams. I have found that the absolute best one is the Aveeno Continuous Radiance cream. You can get it at CVS. Just shower and gently exfoliate your whole body really well. Then moisturize your whole body with a non-mineral oil moisturizer. Wait like 5-10 mins for it to dry a bit. Then apply the tanning cream to the lighter parts you want to fill in, and blend it very very well. Wash your hands with soap and water after you finish, as it will stain your hands a little. Do this every day til tan lines aren't noticeable! It worked for me for my b-pics when I messed up my airbrush tan. Long story

Me too! I literally went to the Gap and bought a bunch of thin, crew neck long sleeve shirts for doing errands outside on the weekend and strapless EVERYTHING ELSE when i'm outside.
It's either long sleep or strapless for me! It's exhausting!
