Tan, self tanner, what are you planning to do? (w/poll)

Original post by bluesashbride

hi LIW girls...just seeing what you plan on doing for your wedding. i would love to have a real tan but we all know how bad it is for you. so what about self tanner, if you plan on doing self tanner do you worry about it coming off on your wedding gown? if you're not worried about self tanning what kind are you using? thanks!!

I'm going to Glow Skin Spa for the airbrush tanning. A person actually airbrushes tanning cream on your body to ensure even coverage and good color. They even contour areas you want to look skinnier with the tanning cream if you want. I'm going for a 'trial' for it on Feb 10th (my first fitting is Feb 11th) so I'll post a review then. Many of the better spas have this service offered - I know Bliss does too.

I'm planning on doing the same thing and do some regular tanning as well

Eogara, be careful! If you are getting your spray on the day before your fitting, couldn't it rub off onto your dress at the fitting? I don't have much experience with airbrush tanning, but it sounds like, from what the other girls are saying, that you might wind up with stuff on your dress and that would be horrible! Just wanted to draw your attention to this in case it hadn't occurred to you!

Thanks for the heads up Deb! But this is different from the spray tan, which I do fairly often and would definitely not do the day before the fitting. But after the first shower this one is fine.

Whoops! I feel silly - look how much I know! Relieved to hear that all will be well! Good luck!

I have done the airbrush tanning and unfortunately, its the same as any self tanner I have tried- it still rubs off a bit days later. Not as bad as when I have used self tanner myself, but still. I am not sure what it would do a white dress. I am thinking of trying this service at Maximus- its called sun-kissed or something like that. Its basically self tanner, so it might be the same problems, but who knows! I'll let you know

Well since my renewal is in mexico, I'm definitely tanning before so I would like to go to a tanning salon and have the airbrush tanning done mildly since I will be there two days before the actual ceremony.

I'm probably going to do the old fake and bake.

I think I'll do airbrush tanning. I have had skin cancer so I can't go tanning. Also because I am fair skinned I got an Ivory dress which looks great with my skin tone so I might not do any kind of tanning.

I think I am going to get an airbrush tan...I have to find out the exact name of the place (its in the city) a freind of mine had it done for a wedding and she loved it. She said it looked so real and NOT orange at all...basically you get naked and let a person airbrush the stuff onto you. It comes out even and the perferct shade...so you don't look like you OD'd at the tanning salon or with the bottle. It looks natural.. I think it was $65 or $75 for the application...

I'm surprised by the huge numbers who are planning to either go to tanning beds or use self-tanner. If it's a time of the year that you're not normally tan (or if you're never normally tan), then why go for a 'fake' one just for the wedding? Seems weird, but it looks like I'm the only one.

i might have to do an airbrush trial myself. i've done self tanner, even had a spa treatment self tanner massage and it never comes out quite right and ALWAYS sweats off, even after i've showered. this airbrush stuff sounds good though. just trying to avoid more sun, tough though when you love being tan. its a toss up...wrinkles or a glorious wedding day tan.

Definately a tanning package two month before the wedding

Also, am considering the airbrushing, but will have to see how eogora's review goes!

Probably just try to hit the beach the weekends before the wedding.

Maybe I will get a tanning package - but really I can't see myself doing that. I am tempted though since we are hoping to HM in Bora Bora and I want a bit of a base tan so as not to have to go through 100 tubes of sunscreen!
