So I went to the dermatologist today and got 2 creams and anti-biotic b/c my face has been breaking out like crazy.
The anti-biotic has a warning sticker on it that says to limit sun exposure (including tanning beds). One of the creams has a sticker on it that says to just stay out of sunlight.
I've been trynig to stay tan (going to the tanning bed) for my epics. I'm really pale and wearing white so I want to look nice.
Would it be bad for my skin if I kept tanning? What type of side effects could i get from tanning, if its just an antibiotic?? What if I put a towel on my face when I tanned? The makeup person can always make my face darker right?
I dont want to look really pasty and white for my pics. Anyone know the answers to these?
PS: I am NOT doing spray tans or tan in a bottle.

Re: tanning dilenma!
you can get a really bad burn.....its not worth it cause the burn can be so bad that you will blister. I use retin A and stop using it in the summer because thats what can happen

epics=June 30th.
The meds take about 6 weeks to kick in and i want to start them asap bc my face looks nasty like a 12 year old
i wonder if the days i want to tan i can just not take it/use the cream on my face?

Re: tanning dilenma!
you can get really bad sunburn from the tanning bed on your face. If anything I would call the doctor and see what they recommend or do the tanning and have your face completely covered and make sure when your outside you put sunblock on

Re: tanning dilenma!
call your doc and see if they can give u a rx for doxycycline(sp?) its an antibiotic. i took those pills for 3 days and i havent had NASTY acne ever since. i cried out of happiness. i still get pimples, but not often.
i also feel topical creams arent as effective as pills. im prob wrong, but with my own personal exp, the doxy pills worked.

At the risk of sounding like your mom, just say NO to tanning beds.
Especially if you are on medication for your skin - you can burn terribly.
Why so opposed to self tanner? There have been vast improvements - I like the ones that gradually build color - therefore you dont turn orange and your hands don't get strangely colored either.
I had a mystic tan this year and it was great - especially the day after - it was very natural looking.
I am sorry to be a nag, but I had a pre cancerous mole a few years back, luckily it was easily removed, sorry if I sound like the tanning police - in 30 years you'll thank me - spray tan doesnt leave wrinkles!
Also I think your pale skin is gorg!

Re: tanning dilenma!
yeah i wouldnt reccomend it. If they put u on an oral antibiotic that means it will effect you everywhere!!!! and that side effect is no JOKE!!! It makes your skin SUPER SENSITIVE i learned first hand twice!!!!
I got my eye brows waxed and my skin came off with it!!! and thinking it would only effect my face because i was using cream, 2 weeks later i went and got a BRAZILIAN WAX!!!!!!

Re: tanning dilenma!
I am also taking tazorac on and off when i get breakouts around my menstrual cycle... I take before a big even (wedding, etc..) and as long as you do not stay in too long I think you will be fine. If you are really pale, I do suggest that you start at a low machine for about 5 mins and then increase it every few days ... just to develop a base. I mean its only for E-pics so I think it should be fine (IMO)
However, if you are really nervous, I would also suggest trying a spray tan. I am walking out in my friends wedding and I want to try the BRAZILIAN BRONZE tan spray. They have different salons, and I have heard great reviews, and it lasts about a week or so. Downside, its kind of expensive. But if its for a special occasion it might be worth checking out. If you do opt for spray tan, I would suggest doing a trial before your e-pics to see how you like it.

Re: tanning dilenma!
def stay out of the sun and tanning beds if the warning says so. Def try the spray tan and see how you like it and how it looks before your pics at the end of the month.
