Tanning Options?

I'm really fair, desperately need a tan but burn easily. By chance does anyone know of any other options?

- sit in the sun (i'll burn)
- tanning salon (tried it yesterday...got nadda)
-- airbrush tan
-- spray tan in a salon

What works best?

Tanning takes a few sessions...especially if you're fair skinned. You dont want to go for too long in beginning sessions b/c you will get a bad burn and peel it off. Start by going for 5 mins 3x weekly and increase from there. Good luck!

I agree completely... I am a fair bride and have never doen the tanning salon thing till two weeks ago. I have gone three times and have already seen results...I think if you are careful (not to overdue it) you can get great results. I am not advocating tanning salons...I just think a wedding is a special occusion and is worth it.

I agree about tanning salons. Normally I would avoid them, but a wedding is a special occasion. I went for my first session on Tuesday. Unfortunately, I overdid it and am paying the price. Next time, I'm requesting fewer minutes. I think when it comes to fair-skinned girls and tanning salons, slow and steady is the way to go.

Be Careful of the type of tanning bed too. I can't remember which is which, but there are UV-A beds and UV-B...one is a lot stronger...I made that mistake a few years ago and paid a BIG price...But as Aly 0124 said...if you go 'slow and Steady' you should be okay

I am fair skinned as well..I have gone to Hollywood Tans twice so far and seeing results..first few times go for about 5-6 minutes and increase from there...I like Hollywood Tans because they have stand up booths..

i'm fair as well. I tan in a bed; I burn in the sun-depending on the conditions. I love tanning in a bed-no tan lines!! When I first started I only went for about six minutes and I was red-not tan. But as you keep going and working up your time you will get tan.

If I stop going all together and get back to being white...it takes me a GOOD month to be a bronze goddess.

As of now I have color-but I'm not bronze. It's hard for me to drag my a** into the tanning solon. But I stay in for twenty minutes and only get a little red. The next day it's tan. If I were to go 2 weeks; five days a week I would be very tan.

It will take a while. Don't give up when you've only tried one time. Get a good lotion.

Spray tan is nice too. But it only is around for about two days. So if you want an existing tan-go to a booth. Also try the jergans (i think) glow lotion. It gradually makes you darker.

yeah...you dont really see it after one session tanning...its very gradual which is great...because....TAN+GRADUAL=NO BURN

I am fair skinned and got an airbrush tan for my wedding. It was fantastic - it looked so natural and didn't rub off on anything. It lasted for a week (which is funny because I was paler after a week in Hawaii than when I first arrived).

I personally don't like tanning beds because of the long term skin damage. I have skin cancer in my family and am trying to avoid it at all costs. My dermotologist warns against it for a number of reasons.

If you want more info on the airbrush tanning and see pics, FM me!
